Trust looks a little bit like this.

When Tilly’s owner told me she sleeps on the bed and asked if that would be okay, my answer was an easy yes.

Pet sitting is about keeping pets comfortable and maintaining the routines they’re used to.

Last night, Tilly rested her head on my neck and fell asleep.

A small moment, perhaps, but one that tells me she feels safe, relaxed and settled - and that’s exactly what I hope for every pet in my care.

This week has been tough for so many dog walkers.

Cancelled walks.
Constantly checking temperatures and forecasts.
Adjusting routines to keep dogs safe and comfortable.

And while cancelled walks affect us too, good dog walkers will always put the dogs first - even when it’s difficult.

Extreme heat isn’t just uncomfortable for dogs, it can be dangerous.

So if plans sometimes need to change, please know every decision is made with your dogs’ safety and wellbeing at heart 🤍

After recently seeing the post about this little kitty trying to get into Albrighton School, today they apparently decided my van was the next best option 🤣

I was parked on Garridge Close getting one of the dogs into the van, left the door open for a moment, and this little character just casually jumped straight in like they were coming along for the day 😂

Whoever owns this cat, I think they’re determined to join somebody’s crew 🐱

Super proud of Dexter today 🙌

As some of you may be aware from my introduction post regarding Lulu and Dexter, both dogs came to me as nervous rescue dogs and we are continuing to work on building trust, confidence and positive relationships.

Up until today, Dexter’s owner has always had to put his leads on for me due to him still being unsure and nervous. But today, for the very first time, his owner wasn’t there and I managed to get Dexter out for his walk 🥹

I used a slip lead first so I could then safely get his normal lead on, and honestly this felt like such a huge milestone for Dexter.

Moments like this may seem small to some people, but when working with nervous dogs, these are massive wins 🐾

This week we met up with Libby at Pugh’s Pets for a walk with Monty & Peppa alongside Winnie & Dottie 🐾✨

The dogs got along instantly and it was honestly so lovely to watch. Winnie & Peppa especially became best friends within minutes 🥹💛

After how well the first walk went, we arranged another play date yesterday and it’s safe to say the dogs were VERY excited to see each other again.

Watching them all run around together, play so naturally and grow in confidence around each other has been so wholesome.

I think sometimes people forget dog walking doesn’t have to feel competitive. It’s been really nice meeting up with another walker and simply letting the dogs socialise, make friendships and enjoy themselves together ✨

First Visit with Lulu & Dexter

I took Dexter out for a walk first - such a lovely boy to be out with, and then spent some time back at home with them while their owner was there.

Now… considering everything I’d been told about Lulu 😅

This little diva absolutely lapped up the attention. If I stopped fussing her, she was straight in with a nudge of my hand or offering me her paw for more.

I know there’s a lot more to her than that first impression though, so we’ll take it at her pace - but for a first visit, that’s a lovely start.

It’s always the best feeling when a nervous dog chooses you that quickly 💛

Looking forward to building on this with them both.
