Let’s get real for a second.
Today was hard. Grooming is something I love. I love seeing your dogs everyday and making them look cute as heck. 99.9% of the dogs are great. Sure they may p**p on the table, try to bite me, flail in ways that would impress the best acrobat in the world, but most of the time I can manage that. Most of the time.
Sometimes it’s different. Sometimes all the tools, tricks and behaviour management skills just don’t work.
Sometimes the dog is too anxious, too aggressive, or just too much. I am human, I try my best to successfully groom every dog that comes through my door. To make them feel safe, loved and provide them the highest level of care I can. Sometimes it’s just not enough.
This is the side groomers rarely share. The after effect of an appointment that leaves me feeling inadequate, unskilled and frankly just overwhelmed.
Thank god it’s Saturday . And thank god for friends that let me vent and family that helps with the tough ones! Thank you for being by my side and understanding! Enjoy your weekend
