Shes settling slowly slowly. It shows cause she stayed still enough for us to manage to take her photos. Shes adorable bless her, but shes so restless. Its not like we 're not used to crazy teenagers but shepherds are a category on their own.
Corina is the low type black german shepherd. Shes already amazing with humans, she basically adores the human race. As expected shes kinda dominant, doesn't like small dogs and doesnt like other females much. This is an extra reason why we want her to learn to be sociable. Her possessiveness is already reduced but knowing where she lived for half a year, we understand her. Here she doesn't have to compeed other dogs for food. She can enjoy playing, relaxing. These are the first steps of socialising. We dont want her to grow up and be reactive. Her new home may have other dogs or other animals. She needs to be able to live in peace with them.
Our girl is a talker by the way. She barks and complains and if we ignore her she changes her tone of barking and barks demanding our attention. If we tell her to stop, she looks at us and barks again like saying " are you real?!?" Shes such a drama queen, so hilarious. Its her way of getting the attention she never had.
Corina was never socialised while a pup. Her owner wanted her to be a hunting dog which she wasnt. If she finds a home that will give her attention and do some training with her, she will be an even more amazing dog. Shes so smart that will learn very easily the basic commands.
Our gorgeous girl can be adopted in Cyprus or abroad, wherever she will find a good home. You will need to message us for more infos on how to adopt her. Fingers crossed that this sweet young girl will find easily a home.

Big boys update and its Miros turn to be posted. Azalea already went to a foster home as trial and if everything goes well, she will be adopted. Alexander is reserved for the Netherlands and we hope by posting Miro that he will be adopted as well.
The pups are now 5,5 months old and they started getting big and heavy. All above 20 kgs and we started having troubles in lifting them up. Before we could pick them up even with difficulty and do cuddles. Now? no chance with Miro and Plato. Victor also is almost the same at the 2. Alexander is the "lighter" as we can lift him for a few meters. Its like doing heavy weight lifting with them but we love them. They are all such gentle and loving pups. If only we could keep all of them but we cant have 4 huge dogs at the shelter.
Miro is the most strong builded of the pups and his body shape shows genes from their staffy grandma. His torso is the wider of the pups and his paws are the largest. Its like having a bear cub at the shelter. Hes got a solid body like all of them of course, a calm character. Hes a gentle force but hes got strong guarding instict. Hes not like Corina the german shepherd we have who check and barks to anything that passes in front of her. He checks whats around, observes and if its worth it to deal with, then will go check. If not, hes not bothered to move. He just lies down and relaxes. Hes calm and quiet, not a barker. Like all the pups hes fine with any of our dogs and cats. Almost every day they go for a walk with our greyhound pups for half an hour. We pass from the cats, the other pups and the mini dogs and they never had any issues. If someone is interested in seeing a video how these pups are with the other animals we have, you can message us and we can send you the videos. Its hilarious seeing them walk above the kittens and the smallish dogs we have without even acknowledge them. Its like the small ones dont exist and its only them walking.
As we said above, the pups can be adopted abroad, not only in Cyprus. We dont mind where as long as they will have a good home. Experience in large animals is needed cause the pups will be over 55 kilos. Notis their older brother is 64kgs. For more infos in adopting, please message us.

An update on this crazy girl and unfortunately she needs a home the soonest. Pops found a foster home in Uk and we hoped that as a working dog, she would find a home the soonest. What we didnt know though is that mallis are now being pts for the slightest thing they do and are labeled as agressive and dangerous dogs even as pups. Everyone is impressed and wants a dog like the one they see in movies doing brave and amazing tricks. No one wants though to spend time with the dog to train it. Everyone wants an amazing perfect dog served in their plate without lifting a finger. 😔
Our gorgeous girl who now lives in her foster home in Leicestershire has to find a home the soonest. Her foster family has to move and things wont be good for her. Poppy has to find a home the soonest and the ideal is with an older large male dog. Our young girl is obviously a mallis crossed most probably with a gsd. Shes very smart and is definitely a working dog. Due to her age, shes around 1,5 years old now, shes nervous and gets stressed easily. Unfortunately shes not confident which makes her wary of things going on around her. This is why we said about an adult large size male. She wants a doggy friend and when ever she meets one she goes nuts from joy and playing. If she has someone to take example from, it would be amazing for her. Pops yes, is a working dog, she was checked by a trainer for it and if given attention and train her while shes got a dog friend, she will thrive. We wont say that shes an easy dog, young dogs and a handful and especially working dogs. Its her dna, this is her character so we want her to find a home that will understand her and love her for what she is. It doesn't have to be a home that she will work as a working dog but the home needs to understand her character and have a large doggy friend.
While in Cyprus, she grew up in a household with older children and a cat so she can live in a family that has them again. Poppy is good with dogs but due to her size and age, shes rough at playing. This is why we said she needs to be adopted with a large male dog.
Messaging us would be easier if you 're interested in this girl. Shes got a reduced adoption fee since we want to help her. We can send you an application form to fill and if you 're close to her you can visit her. Fingers crossed that she will find her forever home soon.

The jack russel we picked up from the garbage side. She recovered from the mess she was when we picked up. She even started putting the pups in their place even though they are double and triple her size.
Vivi is an adult dog and from what we see in her, shes over 5 years old. Shes not old over 9, shes still fast and sharp. No need to say that she hates cats. If she was fine, we would leave her roaming free but with our cats, we dont risk it. If she starts chasing, then others will follow and will make a gang.
We cant say that shes sociable, shes wary of humans and hesitates to allow us to pet her. From the state we found the dogs at the garbage side, we can tell that no one gave them attention. They were ignored and mistreated unfortunately. If Vivi goes to a home where she can relax and forgets what shes been though, she will start to open up. A calm environment is what she needs right now, not a stressful shelter.
Vivi needs the help, needs a home. Foster or forever and the soonest. She can bounce back and become a happy playful crazy jr. Do give her the chance, shes a sweetheart. For more infos about her, please message us.

As much as we 're trying to avoid posting pups, we dont have any other choice. We need to get them adopted the soonest. The weather is starting slowly to change and its 200% that the younger dogs will get kennel cough. It appears out of nowhere as soon as the temperature drops at night and it starts to be a bit chilly.
This year we tried as much as we could to avoid getting pups. This cutie is one of the few we got. She actually came to us, shes a spaniel mix and shes 2 months. In case you 're wondering about size by the way, its a close up photo, shes not big. She will be the standard spaniel size we have in Cyprus, around 15 kgs.
The pup is being dewormed, deflead and shes healthy. She needs a home the soonest so if you 're interested please message us. If we find a foster home in Cyprus, she can be adopted abroad since the pups need to be 4 months old to be able to fly. We dont want to leave her at the shelter cause as we said above this season is very risky for the pups that dont have an immune system. If anyone is interested in fostering or adopting, please message us.

Sweet Anita, one of the 3 pups we got a couple of months ago. Remember that we posted recently Jacko and Hazel. Anita was posted around a month ago? but pups change all the time since the grow up by the day. You will to scroll down at our page to see the other two pups who we must admit have no similarities with Anita. Hazel and Jacko are the two who look similar while Anita looks like a shorthair labrador. Their look is confusing, 2 look alike but the 3rd doesn't. The only possibility we can is that the 2 must 've got the looks of one parent and the 3rd from the other parent. Otherwise we cant explain how come they look so different.
Jacko and Hazel are calm and quiet pups while Anita is more lively. Shes not the most active pup but comparing with her siblings, shes much more lively. The are pretty much the most quiet pups we ever seen. We rarely hear them bark, never go on a fight or growl at other pups. As for size, they 're turning to be smaller than we were told. The person giving them to us said about 15-20 kgs which we doubt it. At 4,5 months old they are 6 and 6,5 kilos. We estimate them around 12-15 kgs so willnbe small size. Something like a smallish cocker? Anita as the more active and confident pup, she would be perfect for a family with children. A lively family to have play mates.
If you 're interested in adopting this sweet girl or another of our doggies, you will need to message us. Dont just comment on the post, message us as well cause we cant message you first. We can only reply to a message and this creates lots of misunderstandings with people who believe we ignore them. Message us to explain how our adoption process works and to send you an application form to fill. Its an easy process and if you want, you can ask one of our adopters. 🙂

He went home. From being abandoned like a garbage here in Cyprus, hes loved and cherished in the Netherlands. Amos flew today and went to his forever home. It was really touching to see this little guy trusting people he met today. He showed them what a lovely soul he is and they loved him.
Have a happy life baby and we know you will be the happiest.

International dog day today. Today we honor the vital role these amazing creatures play in our life. A celebration that started in Us and was spread thankfully in many countries wanting to show how important dogs are in our life.
For those that dont have a dog, adopt one. We may believe that we save them but trust us, they save us. Whether they are sleeping at our feet, chasing a ball or a fly. Whether they greeting us at the door while barking like loonies, life is just so much better with a dog.
Such day and everyday, doggie rescues like us are trying to promote adoptions and we trully hope we are making it cause all dogs deserve a home.

Would anyone locally foster or adopt this little old boy? Hes a frienchie/pom mix around 4-5 kgs. Hes basically very small and blind on one eye. We dont know age but since he was found abandoned, theres no way of finding out.
The poor boy is one of the small doggies we found abandoned in the garbage site. If you remember, we picked up 7 in total small dogs in a very bad estate. This old boy was one the 3 that had very matted fur and had to be shaved.
Now hes with the pups, in the puppy pen. Due to his small size, the pups are the only solution. Even though the pups create a mess, theres no other place to put him. All the other dogs are large comparing to him. We feel sorry for him but theres no where else to put him. If someone in Cyprus can foster or adopt him, please message us. Lets all help him.
