If he was was a man, he would be dead gorgeous wouldn't he? As time passes by and he settles more, he changes. Angus gets more relaxed, more calm, slowly slowly more sociable. He even let us get close up photos of him when at the first months he was here, he wouldn't even let us get closer than 2 meters distance from him.
Angus is a hound mix, we dont know exactly what breeds he has as locals mix pretty much every hound they have. Hes tall and has white fur with black dots like english pointers have. He has the nose of a scent hound and the markings on the head may be inherited by a beagle or gasqoigne. Not even a dna test would show what breeds he has plus most dna tests done in stray dogs show chihuahua and toy poodle genes. 🙄 Again we dont know age, we can only guess. Hes adult, no question on that. He can be from 3 to 5 years old which is a good age for a dog.
Our beautiful boy is fine with other dogs, he lives with other dogs currently. Not good with cats but we expected it. Timid with humans but we 're making progress with that as we said above. With what hes been through, we cant blame him. A home with another dog, female preferably would be the best for him. It will help him adjust to his home much sooner and will show him that not all humans are monsters. He has so much love to give but hes so afraid to show his feelings. We cornered him a couple of times and hugged him. He was so surprised the first time we kissed his face. It was like he didnt believe it and was so touching. The majority of the strays we get had never seen any affection from humans, only beating and shouting. Being shown love, makes them scared.
We hope that someone will fall in love with him and will adopt him. Hes a loving dog, hes just been so wronged in his life. He needs that new start, his happy ending. For adopting him, you can message us. We can explain to you about everything.

We hoped they were the last 2 dogs from that garbage hell but they arent. Comparing the photos we were send by various people passing from there, we realised there are 2 more that we didnt manage to catch or even see. 2 spitz looking doggies and it horrified us. Jesus seriously! How many dogs were dumped there?
So the ones from yesterday are a mini spitz or pomeranian cross boy and a female poodle. The video doesnt show very well the dogs state and the poodles fur was stuck like mud on her. Both were smelling wee like the other oldies we found. We just pray that the 2 dogs missing are the last ones, we cant take every dog. The 2 were very happy they saw us, they knew we would save them. The spitz mix is mini size, around 4-5 kilos and the poodle girl around 7 kilos cause she has a solid body. Shes gorgeous bless her but she needs desperately a bath and grooming. In the video it doesnt show much her fur but its not good. If someone can help with donating the amount for grooming the 2 doggies, we will be very grateful. Anyone wanting a springer spaniel pup? This cutie is a very sweet girl, a beautiful soul that needs a home of course. Shes afraid of loud noises and wants to play instead of hunting so she was given to us a few weeks ago but we never had the chance of posting her. Shes around 7-8 months so still a pup and will be around 15 kgs when adult. Shes fine with humans, dogs and fine for now with cats but she tends to try and chase them.
She can be adopted abroad or locally, we dont mind. As long as its a home that will love and take care of her, we 're alright with the country she will go. If anyone want to adopt her, please message us. We 'll send you an application form to fill and we do homechecks.

One of the pomeranians we found abandoned. We wont say anything about the owner or the person who abandoned them. Seriously its beyond our mind that someone would abandon a 2 kilos dog with such fur under the sun in the summer. We have 33c daytime and its not even the pick of our summer. A black pomeranian didn't stand a chance in surviving a day in the sun.
If someone recognizes it, please message us with infos please. Who ever abandoned these dogs must be reported and put in prison. Now we need foster homes desperately and also donations for their grooming. The dogs fur is in desperate situation and almost all need clipping.
If someone in Cyprus is interested in adopting one of these dogs please message us. There are 7 dogs in total who need homes. We managed to catch the last 2 today, a poodle in horrible situation and a pom/chi mix. The last one was found dead unfortunately in the highway.

Does anyone recognize this pomeranian oldie? Cause with that size and that type of fur, he can only be pomeranian. Or a very mini german spitz. With all that muddled fur, he must be close to 3,5 kilos. Without the fur, he must be 2,5-3 kilos max.
We dont know the dogs gender, with that fur we couldn't understand if he had something hanging under it. Plus the doggo was already very stressed from being in the highway and having cars speeding next to it. We couldn't turn it upside down and start checking under that fur.
We got another pomeranian thats totally black size and that one is almost tea cup size. Its unbelievable what we saw 2 days ago in that garbage place.

Hes 3,5 years old now. Thats just over 3 bloody years in a cage. 3,5 years of not knowing a home, a family. 37 months, over 1100 days, a lifetime. A life that suffers in a cage when hes so gorgeous dam it, such a good doggy.
Venetis or Vene is maybe the dog that is with us the most. Then its Amara, another sweet soul whos also overlooked bit we will do another post for her. If you press anyway the headline of the post, facebook will take you to his photo album. You will see his photos from the first day we got him. He was such a scared boy then but knowing where he lived, we cant blame him for how he felt. Venes sister was adopted a couple of years ago, she was lucky and found a foster home. That helped her find a home easily cause people could go visit her and see themselves her sweet character. Vene is unlucky, no foster homes for him and as time passes by, he gets more ignored. People believe that by being in a shelter for so long, it means hes got behavioral issues which he doesn't. Hes a sweet angel, hes fine with any dogs, our cats, he knows how to behave in a house and knows how to walk on lead. Hes only fault is that hes not used to young kids cause we dont have people visiting us here. Hes afraid of the sudden shouting or noises children do while playing. Other than that hes a very sweet and well behaved doggo.
We wont stop posting him, wont stop fighting for this boy so he will have eventually a home. Vene is our baby and a baby thats worth a lot, we wish people could see this. 😔 If you want to help this boy, please message us and ask to fill an application form. We got these photos yesterday and we were very annoyed when we saw them. An idiot abandoned some dogs at the usual illegal garbage place that some idiots dumped pups before. So far we got around a dozen pups from there and most of them died of parvo due to the situation that we found them.
So 2 days ago we got these photos. As we said above it was at the same garbage place, an isolated field with canes around it so many take advantage that they cant be seen abandon garbages or dogs and they just go and get rid of what they want. When we asked the guy who send us the photos how many dogs and type, he said 5 adults and small. Instantly we thought a mom with pups but when we zoomed at the photos, half the dogs didn't match as relatives. It was late anyway last night when we got the photos so we went today when we finished work.
We didnt even go to the garbage area and we in the street 3 very smallish dogs. 2 of them matched the dogs in the photo but one didnt and it surprised us. After an hour running in the a highway street we managed to get those 3 dogs and then we drove to the garbage area. We found another older dog. We searched for another half an hour, drove all around the area and just before we left, we shouted as a last efford to find the last dog. Just when we got in the car, we saw something move towards us and it eventually turned out to be a dog. We got 5 dogs from that hell hole and to our surprise the 2 dogs werent in the photos we got. Only 3 were and 2 of the ones in the photos werent there. So how many dogs were totally abandoned there? Seriously it deove us nuts when we realised there are more dogs there.
So today we picked up 4 pure breed older dogs and an adult crossed breed. The crossed breed is a peki mix and the others are a jr, a frenchie, a pomeranian and a mini spitz. All of them in very very bad situation. Someone must owned these dogs but afterwards dumped them due to age of the owner or the dogs? Since we dont know the owner we can say that the owner died? or has gone to an olders home or sick and the relatives just got rid of the dogs? Which is very common here. But this means someone discarded 7 or 8 dogs at once. And 5 of them are pure breeds, maybe its a hoarding situation? We dont know what to think.
The 5 caught today have gone to the vet. They need loooots of things and firstly 2 of them desperately grooming. The mini spitz and the pom are in a horrble situation. We will post them individually tomorrow, the videos and photos we got while trying to catch them and the photos from the vet. We cant believe that humans are so heartless.

A post we are doing every few months cause we are really desperate for volunteers. We are really struggling with cleaning and caring for the dogs daily. Its only 2 volunteers looking after the dogs and care for them which means if anything happens to one of them, then theres a problem on whos gonna clean and feed the dogs. Already this happened a few times and we were begging for help. Now one of thr volunteers broke her hand which basically leaves us with one volunteer trying to looke after almost 70 dogs and around 45 cats.
Before you tell us to hire a worker, we must dmit that we tried. Due to cypriot laws, we have to employee locals before we can employee someone from out of europe. No one wants to come and work at a shelter. No one wants to clean dogs so we are stuck with volunteers and again locals very very rarely help. We accept people from abroad as we offer accommodation but its not so easy for someone to travel abroad to volunteer. We had volunteers from abroad several times and we wish we had more coming. If anyone wants to spend a week or two or more dealing with dogs and cats, please message us. We need the help.

Another one of our stunning doggos, our Simba. Hes one of our bush babies, the stray pups we found hiding under wom huge bushes in the countryside. Hes 1,5 years old now going to two, thats 1,5 years of living in a shelter.
You can press the headline of the post and go to the photo album of this litter and see the pups story. They are gorgeous pups and thank god 4 of them are adopted. Simba is one of the 3 pups we still have in Cyprus. Amalia, Jester and Simba are the ones we still have. Simba must be a pointer/brittany spaniel mix. We thought he may be blue de gasqoigne mix with his markings but hes the hairiest pup of the litter, the rest pups are shorthaired like pointers. Simba is a big boy, a tall slim boy around 20 kilos. Hes sociable but also timid, playful, gets along with humans and dogs. He hates cats even thiugh he grew up with them. Due to our location, we 're in the countryside, hes not used to loud noises such as noises from a city, children playing and shouting. Hes a quiet boy even though he loved to run in the country.
Hopefully he will find his forever home soon. If its with another dog, it would be great cause hes used being with other dogs. Shes so disappointed bless her. Its unbelievable we know it but this young girl still needs a home so its to start for her. Yes, she needs to find a home, and a home that will have experience in crazy dogs.
Quennie is sweet and loving youngster but since shes a pup, shes also kinda crazy. Shes a year old frenchie which means that yes shes a pup. An active doggo that if possible, she would run around the yard all day and night and check everything that exists. Frenchies are stubborn and Quennie is no exception. She wants to have her own way always. Hates cats, shes bossy but if she likes you then you are her bff. She wants cuddles, she will follow you everywhere. Shes capble of will jumping on the table if can have her own way and check whats the food. She snores of course like almost every frenchie that exists. She gives sloppy kisses and drools most of the time. Frenchies are adorable and amazing dogs but also difficult dogs so think twice before applying.
Now why are we saying these since we want her to find a home? Cause we want Quennie to find a home that will love and understand her, with all her goods and bads. We want Quennie to find the best home not just any home. With a family that will accep her so if you love frenchies and want to give this gorgeous girl a home, message us.
