Our Mission

The Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter is a non-profit charity committed to providing a euthanasia-free environment for unwanted animals through the provision of interim care and arrangement of adoptions to suitable owners.

Our Vision

The Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter aspires to a society in which pets are accorded the right to life and are recognized as beings with feelings that have the right to loving care. The Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter works towards this end by:

-Alleviating the suffering of animals by providing interim shelter
food and medical care

-Educating the public at every opportunity regarding the health-care of pets, and owners’ responsibilities concerning spaying and neutering

-Participating in spaying and neutering programs through coordination and liaisons with veterinary hospitals

Shelter Hours:
Monday to Friday -- 11am - 7pm
Saturday -- 11am - 6pm
Sunday and Holidays -- 11am - 6pm

We are looking for loving foster homes for puppies in our care. Fostering helps give them a safe, nurturing place to grow while they wait for adoption.
We provide all food, supplies, veterinary care, medications, and support—you provide the love and a safe home.

Foster homes should be able to:
• Transport puppies to vet appointments
• Communicate with our team
• Provide a vet reference
• Allow home visits
• Have a fenced yard or secure outdoor space
• Offer a puppy-friendly environment

Meet Jameson 😍
A few weeks ago, this poor guy was unexpectedly left with us with no explanation. He initially was very stressed, but slowly came around and learned to relax. Now, he LOVES giving us lots of cuddles, and nuzzling in for scritches! We hope to find Jameson a quiet home with patient people, who will let him come out of his shell in his own time, as another transition may have him scared and wanting to hide again. He’s a gentle and friendly guy, who just needs to understand he’s safe in order to really feel himself. We may never know what he’s gone through in the past, but we know his future is bright ✨ Come by if you could provide Jameson with the love and security of a forever family he’s always dreamed of!
