🕐 Schedule & Activity Adjustments
Time your walks: Stick to early mornings or late evenings when temperatures are cooler.

Check the pavement: Press the back of your hand to the asphalt for 5–7 seconds — if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for paws.

Mind the humidity: High moisture makes heat more dangerous by limiting your dog’s ability to cool down through panting.

💧 Hydration & Cooling
Shade and water: Always provide cool water and deep shade outdoors.

Cooling treats: Offer ice cubes or pet‑safe frozen snacks like plain yogurt or pureed fruit.

Never shave double coats: Trim long fur if needed, but don’t shave — their coat protects against both heat and sunburn.

🚨 Watch for Heatstroke
Dogs cool down mainly by panting, not sweating. Watch for these warning signs:

Heavy panting or drooling

Bright red, purple, or pale gums

Lethargy or confusion

Vomiting or diarrhea
