The dahlias are finally starting to bloom on the farm! They are 3 weeks later than normal but better late than never. This season has been incredibly dry and hot and many crops have suffered. I’ve had the irrigation running daily but it still isn’t enough to keep the plants happy. The rain we got this week was a beautiful thing. I’m guessing that within another 2 weeks we should be seeing lots more of these dahlia beauties in the field. Just rolling with the punches this year! Can’t control Mother Nature 😊. I haven’t had enough flowers for extra bouquet sales this summer but hopefully that will change come September. Thanks for your patience!!

Our beekeepers from The Bees Knees Apiary will help you get suited up so you can get up close and personal with the bees! Registration is limited to 8 participants to keep the event small and personal, allowing you to ask all your bee related questions. This is perfect for aspiring beekeepers or for anyone who simply wants to learn more about these amazing creatures. No experience necessary.

First year growing a decent crop of Eryngium (also known as sea holly). It’s prickly and stinky but oh so lovely with its pop of light blue/purple. I’m drying some this year to see how it turns out.

Early summer blooms that are in their glory right now: snapdragons, yarrow, bupleurum and delphinium. All putting on a beautiful show. So lovely to see some vibrant colour in the fields!

We’ve been busy planning a super fun line-up of workshops for this summer. From yoga in the barn to flower arranging workshops and honeybee informational sessions, we have something for everyone.

Summer Workshop line-up:
🧘‍♀️ Stretch, Sound and Blooms - yoga, meditative sound bath and flowers. Need I say more? Sessions led by .ritual.rise
🐝 Honeybee informational sessions - pick from our two workshops depending on your level of adventure. Led by beekeepers
💐 Flower arranging workshop - get creative with this hands-on workshop as you are guided through making a floral centrepiece using blooms from our farm.

The Spring Flower subscription has come to an end but boy was it beautiful. I can’t wait to do it all again next year. Now we wait for the summer heat loving flowers to bloom!

Look who’s finally arrived!! The ranunculus have started to bloom and they are proving yet again why they are worth the wait. They are perfectly timed with our peonies and baptisia too. It’s been quite a lull from when our tulips finished blooming but the second phase of spring flowers have arrived and subscription holders can expect to see some of these beauties in their upcoming bouquets. If I have any extras I’ll be sure post here to let you know.
