DISCUSSION
Decided not to modify the risk map for Day 2. Extreme instability in the 3,500J/kg+ of MLCAPE and SBCAPE over 5,000J/kg will bring some capping issues along the warm front, which will be N-S oriented from the low pressure system somewhere around the SK/MB border. The MOD risk has the best parameters along the warm front for intense classic supercells with the potential for 50,000ft tops. This will give hazards of hail up to grapefruits and tornadoes, some of which could be intense with 0-1km SRH high in the 150-200 range. An upgrade to HIGH risk may be needed in Day 1 if it’s determined the cap will break along the warm front aided by a LLJ and terrain. If this happens, this will likely be one of the more memorable setups of the year. There is a secondary risk along the cold front in SW SK, which I decided not to highlight, but large hail could be an issue there as well.
