A foster based pet rescue serving Virden and Southwest Manitoba. Adoptions, foster opportunities, low cost spay-neuter program.

Since 2008, Virden Pet Network has been helping homeless pets by providing veterinary care, spay-neuter, vaccinations, and any emergency treatment needed. Over the years, we have rescued and found homes for hundreds of pets, mainly cats and kittens, and helped lost and found pets get back home to their families. Our Low Cost Spay Neuter program was created in cooperation with the Virden Animal Hospital to greatly reduce the cost of spay-neuter to limited income pet owners. VPN also supports stray cat colonies in neighboring communities by providing resources like Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), food, and winter shelters. Our rescue is a registered charity certified by the Canada Revenue Agency. As a foster-based rescue, 95 percent of donated funds go directly towards our mission of helping animals.

UPDATE on Oxford St. foundling
I couldn't leave him out there in the cold so last night this poor emaciated dehydrated snotty bag of bones came home to Heather's Hostel.
He's also dealing with a cold and bad case of diarrhea.
The tattoo was only partially legible so we still don't know who his people are. Hope to find out Monday when he sees the vet.
PS: the tattoo starts with CVN, a 2015 number making him at least 11 years old.

CAT SHELTERS NOW AVAILABLE
Virden Pet Network is once again making winter shelters available for the strays in your area.
First we cut an entrance hole in the styrofoam cooler, then fill it with straw for bedding. Nice cozy digs for one or two!
No charge for shelters. Donations gratefully accepted but not required.
Talk to us about spay/neuter/return for the homeless cat in your hood.

Well our Forest Family is ready for Halloween... and if you come around trick or treating they might just hop into your candy bag and go home with you!
Clockwise: Aspen (the mother tree), Larch, Maple and Tamarack.
These sleek black beauties might look alike but they have their own personalities. We'd be happy to set you up with the kitten that's just right for you. It starts with our matchmaking questionnaire here: https://www.virdenpetnetwork.org/adoptions/cat-adoption-application

You can also learn more about them and see other pics here: https://www.virdenpetnetwork.org/adoptions/kittens

New Kitten in stock! And she has a sidekick!
Little Nugget, the pint size punkin' bonded quickly with Banksy, a calico beauty, and it was a done deal.
They can be adopted individually but we (and they) would love them to go home together.
So thanks to a generous sponsor, their package deal is only $100 for both. That includes all shots, FIV and FelV test, deworming, and spay when old enough.
Nugget still needs her vet exam and first vaccines, but you can apply now.

One of our VPN graduates, Snickers, recently passed away after 14 years of life with her adoring family.
We send our condolences and our gratitude to Becki and Desiree for adopting Snickers from VPN as a kitten and loving her a lifetime.
