Hello AKR! Spring is in full bloom, while more AKR pups are finding their new homesAKR! We are thrilled to celebrate our first arrivals of May. 🐾

🇨🇦 Canada Arrivals

May 2: Daram and Chorong flew to Vancouver with our amazing volunteer/foster, Cassie Cho!

The Scoop: These two are learning the ropes of Canadian life. While they are still getting used to the “leash” life, they are absolutely loving their outdoor adventures! And Daram has already revealed her inner diva: she insists on whole treats only. Don’t even think about breaking them into smaller pieces—she knows her worth! 💅🐾

May 6: Cheonun (now Mark) and Lime arrived in Vancouver. Lime is being fostered by Cassie and is already officially adopted! Mark is gaining confidence every day in his new forever home. 🐶

May 14: Two little cuties, Bono and Bona touched down in Vancouver to stay with their foster families and wait with them while finding their own forever homes! Thank you to Roxanne Coehlo and Jimin Koanna Lee for opening their hearts and home to the pups! We are happy to announce that we have a foster fail with Bono being officially adopted by his foster, Jimin! 🥳

May 15: Little Jerry arrived in Calgary! He’s now settled in with two human brothers and a new furry sibling. It’s an instant party for Jerry—he’s so happy to finally have a big crew to call his own! 🏠❤️

May 15: Heemang arrived in Vancouver to stay with foster Tiahna Lily. He’s been a perfect gentleman, enjoying his walks and being curious about everything. 🐶

🇺🇸 USA Arrivals

May 13: Janet (now Juno) arrived in LA! She is now sharing her forever home with two young human siblings. It was love at first sight for everyone! 😍

Congratulations to all our adopted pups! We wish you a summer full of sunshine and big (unbroken!) treats. ☀️

Hello AKR! Please see our April Rescue Wrap-Up!

We are so excited to celebrate the newest group of rescues who have landed and are beginning their exciting new chapters across North America.

Our Vancouver & Calgary Connections:
Sesame (formerly Mini) & Sandy (April 4): Our first arrivals of the month! These two are settling into their routines beautifully. Sesame is still figuring out the mystery of stairs, while brave Sandy is building up her courage to master the elevator.

Oat (April 12): Currently living in his foster home of Jeramie Jae, but soon heading to his new forever family in Toronto!

Reese (formerly Iruri) (April 15): This beautiful girl is already bringing new happiness to her new family. While the TV was a bit “spooky” at first, she’s already learned there’s nothing to fear!

Rangi (April 17, now Sarang): Arrived at YVR and was met by her family who came to Vancouver from Calgary to meet their new pup!

Roco & Miae (April 18): Miae hit the jackpot with three new human siblings to play with, while Roco is busy becoming best friends with his new feline roommate.

Chloe (formerly Hena) & Bimba (formerly Miu) (April 20): These two are doing wonderful! Both families are enjoying the “getting to know you” phase and settling into their new daily schedules.

Oliver & Bonggu (April 21): Adventure is calling! Bonggu is working hard on his walking without distraction with the goal of conquering a 3 KM hike, and Oliver is becoming quite the pro at car rides.

Little Bbang & Bada (April 25): Bbang arrived in Calgary to meet his forever family (and new furry sister!), while Bada landed in Vancouver and has already stolen the heart of foster mom Rachel Chan!

Happy (April 29): Happy’s first days are also filled with new adventures and obstacles like stairs to which he as many our AKR alumis need to learn how to navigate.

Making Moves in the States
Monet (April 29, LAX): Arrived at LAX and is now living in sunny California which he will enjoy once he gets more familiar and confident in his new home!

ONTARIO AKR ALUMNI REUNION 💙

Hello AKR family! We are excited to share that we will be having a meet-up for our adoptive families, fosters, and volunteers at the Barkham Festival! Barkham is York Regions largest dog focused festival with over 100 pet focused vendors, doggie pawlympics, photo booths and more!

This year we have been invited to join the rescue reunion activation! Join us on Sunday June 14th at 1:30pm for our get together!
