Southlands Riding Club

Southlands Riding Club Southlands Riding Club provides a unique home for equestrian sport and recreation in Vancouver.

Located at the heart of the city's equestrian community, the Club focuses on providing training opportunities for amateur athletes at all levels, from grass roots to Grand Prix. We're a non-profit society that serves approximately 350 riding and non-riding members of all ages and interests. We are also "home" to groups that cater to youth, riders with special needs, and recreational trail riders. The Club encourages volunteer participation, and welcomes visitors at our many public events.

A huge thank you to viaSport British Columbia, the City of Vancouver, and the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation for supporting our 2026 May Season Welcomer through their community sport funding program.

This funding helped us create a more affordable and accessible horse show experience for riders of all ages and levels. By reducing event costs and supporting quality competition opportunities, this grant helps strengthen grassroots equestrian sport right here in Vancouver.

🚨 Grounds Update 🚨

The XC Field, Front Lawns, and the strip of grass along 53rd have recently been fertilized & seeded 🌱

Please help us protect these areas while they establish:

🐶 Dogs must stay off for approximately 7 days
🐴 Horses must not graze for approximately 10 days

Members are still welcome to hack through these areas — we just ask that horses do not stop to eat the grass.

🎉 Don’t forget — get your entries in by June 1st to be entered into our Farrier Draws at the June show! 🐴🔩

Thanks to the incredible support of our local farriers, riders who enter before the closing date will have the chance to win money back toward their stud holes/shoeing costs at the show!

🌱 Volunteer Help Needed This Week 🌱

We’re looking for a few volunteers this week to help tackle the overgrowth of horsetail and w**ds in the gardens around the Winners Circle and bleachers.

This is a super easy way to earn volunteer hours while helping keep Southlands Riding Club looking beautiful for our upcoming events and busy show season!

Even an hour or two makes a huge difference. Gloves, w**d pullers, and good company encouraged 😊

The Butet Team Equitation Challenge is set to be one of the most exciting classes of the Austeville Summer Kick Off!

📍 Hunter Ring
📏 2’6” • 2’9” • 3’0” • 3’3”

Teams of THREE riders will compete in a CET-style challenge featuring:
✨ Gymnastics-based equitation course
✨ Team strategy
✨ Flat phase for top teams
✨ Combined team scoring

Each team must compete at THREE different heights, making this the ultimate test of horsemanship, consistency, and teamwork 👏
