Southlands Riding Club

Southlands Riding Club Southlands Riding Club provides a unique home for equestrian sport and recreation in Vancouver.

Located at the heart of the city's equestrian community, the Club focuses on providing training opportunities for amateur athletes at all levels, from grass roots to Grand Prix. We're a non-profit society that serves approximately 350 riding and non-riding members of all ages and interests. We are also "home" to groups that cater to youth, riders with special needs, and recreational trail riders. The Club encourages volunteer participation, and welcomes visitors at our many public events.

As we wrap up 2025, weā€™re proud to reflect on a truly outstanding year at SRC ā€” one filled with horse shows, clinics, playdays, special events, and countless great moments shared with our community. From busy weekends at the ring to exciting new additions around the grounds, this season was all about growth, connection, and making SRC an even better place for horses and people alike.

This year saw several major projects come to life that continue to improve accessibility, safety, and overall experience at the club. We added new lighting along the track on 53rd, as well as upgraded lighting in the indoor arena, allowing for safer and more enjoyable riding year-round. A huge milestone was the upgrade to the track with all-weather footing, an investment weā€™re excited to continue as we work toward completing the rest of the track in the future.

Our eventing community had an especially exciting year with the return of the water jump and the addition of new cross-country fences. These upgrades allowed us to launch a full eventing series in 2025, something weā€™re thrilled to continue and grow in 2026. Our dressage shows once again proved that SRC knows how to have fun - between Best Dressed awards and golf cart dressage tests - theyā€™ve earned a reputation (in our opinion) as some of the most fun dressage shows on the Lower Mainland.

We also made meaningful improvements to the grounds, including the addition of new washrooms for shows, clinics, and events, our very own SRC concession serving up world-famous hot dogs, and a newly crafted indoor door that created more usable riding space while making the ring safer, quieter, and more efficient. We also built and added new obstacles to the Carnarvon ring, creating more opportunities for creative schooling, confidence-building, and fun for riders of all disciplines.

Beyond facilities and events, 2025 was also a year of heartfelt transitions. We successfully rehomed our beloved rescue horses Oliver, Sassy, and Beckham, and were excited to welcome new faces to the SRC family: Henlee, Flora, EMJ, and Moonflower.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of our members, volunteers, sponsors, staff, and wider community. Your generosity, dedication, and enthusiasm are what make SRC such a special place. Thank you for being part of an amazing 2025! We canā€™t wait to see what 2026 brings.
