Important Booking Policy Update

Due to an increase in no-shows and last-minute cancellations, all new clients will now be required to keep a valid credit card on file when booking an appointment.

I completely understand that emergencies happen and schedules can change. Life happens. However, simply booking an appointment and not showing up has a significant impact on a small business.

Sudsy Paws is a one-on-one grooming salon. When an appointment is reserved for your pet, that time is set aside exclusively for them. Unlike larger businesses, I often cannot fill a missed appointment on short notice. A no-show doesn't just leave an empty spot in my day, it results in lost income, wasted preparation time, and prevents another client from booking that appointment.

A credit card on file does not mean you will be charged at the time of booking. It will only be used in accordance with the cancellation and no-show policy already in place:

• Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
• Late cancellations are subject to a 50% cancellation fee.
• Missed appointments without notice are subject to a 100% no-show fee.

This change is not intended to punish anyone. It is simply a necessary step to protect appointment availability and help ensure the long-term sustainability of my business.

To all of my clients who communicate, arrive on time, and respect my schedule, thank you. Your support allows me to continue providing the individualized, one-on-one care that Sudsy Paws is built on.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

🩹 Safety First: Build a Pet First Aid Kit 🩹

Emergencies don’t book appointments. A pet first aid kit buys you time and keeps you calm when it counts.

What needs to be in it:

The Basics:
• Digital thermometer + water-based lubricant. Normal dog temp: 101-102.5°F
• Gauze rolls + pads for wrapping wounds or muzzling
• Non-stick bandages like Telfa pads
• Adhesive tape like Vet Wrap. Sticks to itself, not fur
• Blunt tip scissors for cutting tape or fur around wounds
• Tweezers for splinters or ticks
• Styptic powder or cornstarch to stop nail bleeds
• Saline solution for flushing eyes or wounds
• Antiseptic wipes chlorhexidine or povidone-iodine, not hydrogen peroxide
• Disposable gloves for your safety

Meds & Extras:
• Vet-approved antihistamine like plain diphenhydramine. Ask your vet for dose
• 3% hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting only if your vet tells you to
• Muzzle or strip of gauze. Even sweet dogs can bite when hurt
• Emergency blanket to treat shock or keep warm
• Instant cold pack for swelling
• Small flashlight for checking pupils or wounds at night

Must-Have Paperwork:
• Vet’s phone number + 24/7 emergency vet
• Poison control: ASPCA Animal Poison Control 888-426-4435
• Medical records including vaccines, meds, and allergies
• Recent photo of your pet in case they get lost

How to store it:
1. Use a waterproof container like a fishing tackle box or labeled bin
2. Keep it accessible where you can grab it fast. Not buried in the garage
3. Make a second kit for the car if you travel with your dog
4. Check it every 6 months for expired meds or used supplies

Most important: This kit is for stabilizing, not treating. For any serious injury, bleeding that won’t stop, bloat, seizures, or suspected poisoning, call your vet or emergency clinic immediately.

Be prepared, not scared. Your future self will thank you.

What’s in your pet first aid kit? Anything we missed?

If your dog could leave me a review…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Best day ever, I got snacks and attention”
⭐️⭐️⭐️ “I survived. Not thrilled about it, but I survived.”
⭐️ “I have been betrayed and will remember this forever.”

Be honest. I can take it.

Some dogs love grooming.
Some dogs tolerate it.
And some dogs act like I’ve personally ruined their entire bloodline.

I work with all of them.

No shame, no forcing, no “just hold them tighter.”
Just patience, reading the dog, and going at their pace.

Not every dog fits the “perfect groom” mold… and that’s okay
