Looking to re-home my mother's dog. She was recently admitted to hospital then to a nursing home.

Name: Missy
Female: not spayed.
Age: 4 yrs.
Breed: Border Collie/Great Pyrenees
Weight: 70 lbs
Not UTD on shots.

What can I say about Missy? Well, she is a diamond in the rough, with the potential to be the absolute perfect family pet.

Missy was raised with a cat so she is familiar with them. We have introduced her to our own dog many times. While she is very friendly and curious, she is somewhat timid and docile in their presence. You can tell she is very nervous. She is definitely not the "leader of the pack type". Therefore, I would prefer her to be the only dog.

Personality:

I can honestly say she is the sweetest dog I have ever met! She is loving, gentle, sweet, so trusting, funny, quirky and sometimes an absolute comedy act. She loves to be pet and if you don't pet her quick enough she flops her head in your lap sideways and smiles...yes, I swear she is flirting!

She is wonderful with kids and loves to play and run around. I think she would absolutely thrive and benefit with having children in her life. A little person to call her own.

I think anyone over the age of 6 would be perfect only because she is a larger dog. But that is just me.

Walking: while she does walk on a leash she still needs some help to remember not to pull. My mom was almost 80yrs old and just couldn't take her for walks anymore.
And don't even get me started on cool weather and snow. She love loves love sitting outside on the porch or being a crazy dog in the snow. Definitely in her blood.
She absolutely needs to have a yard.
