Meet Lily, a 3-year-old pug chi mix with a huge heart and an even bigger love for people. Lily is friendly, affectionate, and adores meeting new friends—kids included! She’s calm and quiet at home, fully house trained, and the perfect little snuggle partner who loves to burrow under the blankets and sleep in late.

Lily is a medium-energy girl who enjoys being part of the action. She happily joins her foster mom on hour-long group hikes with up to five other dogs and keeps up like a pro, proving that small dogs can be just as adventurous as the big ones. She gets along well with cats and loves other dogs, especially once she’s had a chance to get to know them.

She’s been practicing staying calm when she sees new dogs on leash and is already showing improvement with consistent exercise and encouragement. She’s also learning to share her favorite treats and toys, and benefits from a little routine during mealtimes. Lily feels most comfortable when her people are around, so a home where she won’t be left alone for long would be ideal. She’s a clever girl, so a well-fitted harness or two-leash setup helps her stay secure on walks. She would love a patient and experienced adopter who can help her continue building her confidence.

With her affectionate personality, playful side, and love of snuggles, Lily will make a wonderful companion for someone ready to continue her journey. She’s a bright, loving little dog who just wants to be part of the family—on adventures, on the couch, and everywhere in between.

In February 2024, an adoption ad for a little beagle popped up on my Facebook feed, and I knew that was my dog

I wasn't looking for a dog. We couldn't get another dog while we still had Zoe. She was 19 years old. What if the new dog wasn't nice to her? What if the new dog took too much time and attention away from her? With Frida, I knew in an instant that none of that would be a problem

I asked Morgan if we could please just go meet Frida. He told me he would MEET any dog

So we went to meet Frida at her foster in New West. When they opened their apartment door at the end of the hall, she ran straight into our arms. It was love at first sight for all of us. We took her home that same day. She was perfect for our little family, Zoe included

We loved everything about Frida, the way she melted into my lap on long car rides, her velvet ears, her soft snores with her head on our pillows, her howls, her play bites, everything. I didn't know it was possible to love another dog the way I loved my old beagle, Josie, but with Frida, it was easy. She was magic

I will never be okay with how brief our time with Frida was, but I am so thankful to have been able to take her on pack walks with her friends every day, for the road trips and horse shows with her, and even the time we spent at home together when we were both recovering from surgery. I will never regret choosing Frida. I would choose her all over again, in every lifetime

We love you, Frida. We always will 💜
