Her first solo walk went really well, she was easy to redirect and settled in quickly.

Engagement doesn’t always look the same.

One dog is checking in, choosing me, staying connected. The other is simply walking calmly, taking in the world without reacting.

Both are wins.

With reactive dogs, the goal isn’t constant eye contact, it’s helping them feel safe enough to move through the world without being overwhelmed.

Sometimes that looks like focus. Sometimes that looks like quiet, calm walking.

And sometimes, safety means taking extra precautions, like using a double leash for dogs who need that added layer of security. 🖤

Ivy is likely a product of neglect in her early years, but that doesn’t define her. She’s strong, willing, and always trying, even when she’s a little hesitant.

Because of what she’s been through, we’re mindful of the situations we put her in. We start small, build confidence, and expand her world at her pace.

Some days are harder than others, and some days, like today, she does amazing. That deserves to be celebrated.

This is why Strolls Royce exists, for dogs who need patience, understanding, and walks tailored to them ❤️
