Warning signs include straining in the litter box, frequent trips with little or no urine, crying out, licking the ge***al area, or having accidents outside the box. A blocked urinary tract is a medical emergency that requires immediate care.

Cats use their whiskers to understand the environment around them. To prevent "whisker fatigue," make sure you use the correct food and water bowls. Stay away from using dog bowls because they can be too deep. Instead, buy cat bowls and those designed to prevent whisker fatigue.
