We recommend prevention for ticks and fleas for your pets. Especially if you are travelling down south or in areas with higher amounts of external parasite or heartworm. If you have any questions or are wanting to start your pet on some, come by and we are happy to help you and your pet 😊

Found puppy brought into Babine Animal
Hospital. Blue collar with tag (no answer from number on tag). The puppy was found on Winnipeg and 2nd in Smithers. Help us find its owner 😊

After discussing it with the CDC this morning, here are the current requirements for bringing a dog into the U.S. from Canada starting August 1st/2024.

1. Owners need to fill out a CDC Dog Import form

2. Dogs must have a microchip that can be detected with a universal scanner to identify them.
3. Canada is considered a low risk country for Rabies so the CDC recommends all dogs be vaccinated against dog Rabies.
**Rabies certificates will be printed off by us and will include the required microchip number**
Please note, the Rabies vaccine has to be current and had to have been administered by us in order for us to print one off prior to travel.
4. Dogs must appear healthy upon arrival.
5. Dogs must be at least 6 months old at time of entry or return to the U.S.
