The theme for this year's World Veterinary Day is "Annual Health Takes A Team". And very much like the saying "It takes a village" it takes entire teams of people in differing positions and schooling working tirelessly to assist in the health of the animals we love so much. So this is in appreciation to everyone working worldwide to help our animal friends both domesticated and wild.

And of course who could ever forget Michelle! Michelle was one of our original staff members when we re-opened the clinic in 2021 and is the heart and smile of the clinic. And although we are all anxious for her return from maternity leave later this year, we're so happy for her family and their newest member, Kaiden! 👱‍♀️👱‍♂️👶

Maddy has been a part of our team for just over a year, but it feels hard to remember Lock One without her! Her endless optimism, positivity and kindness, endear Maddy to all of our team and pet owners. Maddy started her career as a medical receptionist on the human side, but lucky for us she followed her love for animals to our team! 👩🐱💗

Ashley joined our team in October last year when Michelle went on maternity leave. Ashley has many years of experience working in veterinary clinics and having her experience, empathy and sense of humour on our team makes every day so much better. 👱‍♀️🐶❤

This week we celebrate Veterinary Receptionists. Our receptionists are the face of our business. They are our client's first stop in being welcomed into our clinic. They handle endless phone calls, texts and emails from everything from a food order to clients calling in the moment of crisis for their pets. They handle everything that is thrown at them and still manage to keep a smile on their faces. This week we give appreciation back for all that you do for us as a team, our clients and animal patients. Thank you!
This week we will shine the spotlight on our two receptionists that are the face of Lock One, keep an eye out for them later this week!

Dr. Geoff here. I was lucky enough to make a visit to a slightly smaller vet clinic last week, visiting the kindergarten classes at Victoria Public School! The kids had their own vet clinic set up so they were ready to learn more about keeping pets healthy. I got to talk about pet safety, common pet toxins and share some cool x-rays. Just a reminder that it's never too early to learn about taking care of pets! Oh and I was lucky to have an assistant on hand, so thanks for your help Wesley! 🐶🐱🏫🎓

This sweetheart is Nancy. She is a 15 week old Great Dane cross who was recently rescued by her new parents and brought to us for a puppy exam and vaccinations. She was so good for her an exam and had a heart of gold. See you again soon Nancy!

A progression of cuteness. This sweet little guy is Enzo! He is a 16 week old Poodle & Terrier mix. He recently came to meet us for his second puppy vaccine set and exam. He was so cute in his little coat! See you again soon Enzo!

This gorgeous, silly little guy is Cafe Latte! He is a 4 month old Ragdoll and was recently in to see us for some kitty booster vaccines. We couldn't help but ask him for a photoshoot and he happily obliged. See you again soon Cafe Latte!

These two adorable little siblings are Cooper and Oakley! They are 12 week old Shorkies and were recently in to see us for their exams and second puppy sets of vaccines. They were so well behaved and brave! And were real crowd pleasers! See you again soon Cooper and Oakley!

We recently got a visit from our little buddy Indiana! He is 16 week old Golden Retriever. He was recently in to see us to finish up his puppy vaccines. He's got that typical puppy energy but we must say Mom is doing a good job training him. He's quite the little gentleman! See you again soon Indiana!

The unfortunate time has come that we must say goodbye to our dearest Hannah. Hannah has been with us since we opened our doors in 2021, she has worked alongside us as a Veterinary Assistant and more recently has become our in clinic canine behaviour consultant and trainer. She is leaving us in her pursuit to continue to grow her training business, Fischer's Family Dogs. She remains as our top referral for dog behaviour training, and also remains in our hearts. We're sad to see you go Hannah. We wish you all the best on your future endeavours.
