Local dogs and their humans are invited to make a splash at the Dog Day of Summer Swim on Sunday, August 31 at the Lion Ken Gabbey Community Pool! 🐕💦 🐩

📍 Lion's Outdoor Pool, 1 Killarney Rd.
📅 Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025
🕔 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Celebrate the last day of the outdoor pool season with 30-minute swim sessions for dogs, onsite pet portraits available for purchase, and PAW (People for Animal Wellbeing) will be onsite accepting donations and spreading tail-wagging joy as we close the season together.

Small and Large Dog swim times will be available to book when program registration opens at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 21.

Hours for this week are Wednesday 8-3 and Friday 8-12 Saturday 9-2… Jazmine and I have lost a very near and dear part of our family my father in law Eric, please bare with us while we get back into our daily routine

Once again, thanks to the The Magic Touch Grooming Salon & Cattery & Melissa’s “magic touch” ✂️ I’m all cleaned up for summer.

Doodle fur facts:
It’s like Velcro everything will stick to me, I especially love burdocks…hitchhiker bushes, fresh cut grass (I can turn green!)

My hair grows out and I don’t shed, so I need lots of brushing because my teeny tiny curls can get knotted up quick. Thankfully I ❤️ being brushed.
It takes longer to groom me versus a big old hairy dog!

Something fetching has arrived at Mill Creek Nature Park! 🐾

Introducing our new Dog Stick Library - it's the ulti-mutt stop along the trail for your woodsy adventures. Stocked and ready to be retrieved, it can be sniffed out by the Robertson Street entrance to the park (at the bend in the trail before the Operations Centre).

Special thanks to our pawsome partners at the Codiac Woodworkers Guild for building and providing the materials for this special addition to the park.

Perfectly placed for four-legged friends (and their two-legged companions) to grab a stick and walk on. Don't forget to restock for the next pack on your way out!
