Gaps in protection open the door for ticks!

The second layer of tick protection includes using a veterinary approved tick control medication throughout the tick risk period (which is year round here on the island!).

We are so proud to work with such a dedicated rescue! ❤️

Dear supporters. Furever Endeavour is overdue for a 1 year anniversary post. 🎊 We opened our intake in February 2024. Since then, 43 dogs have been matched up with their forever families. Port Alberni has been absolutely amazing, cheering us on and supporting us as we write this exciting story. We owe thanks to some very special people and organizations, so here goes:

CARE Network (Coastal Animal Rescue & Education Network), James, for partnering with us and opening up doors as we navigate the Vancouver Island rescue-landscape. Thank you for your guidance and your trust in us. And for allowing us to care for the magnificent Mr Roscoe when you're on your rescue missions 🐶

All fosters with a special shout-out to some of our return and long term foster heroes: Liane and Mike, Lily, Stacey and Mitch, Elaine, Natalie, Marnel, Jenn. Thank you for opening your hearts and homes to pups and dogs in need. We know fostering can be challenging, including when it's time to say bye. The time spent being loved in your homes makes all the difference for the pups and prepares them for their next journey. We couldn't be more grateful 💕

The first layer of tick protection has several parts, including knowing when and where ticks are active so that, if possible, you can avoid locations where ticks are known to be found. Did you know that about 1 in 5 Blacklegged ticks you encounter in Canada could be carrying the bacteria that cause Lyme disease. The first layer of tick protection has several parts - the first being to perform daily tick checks on our pets (and ourselves!) Do you know what to do if you find a tick on your pet? Remove it ASAP!

Everyone, we would like to introduce you to Archie! Archie came to us through one of our rescue partners, after having been pretty badly wounded. With some medical treatment, and lots of love Archie is now happy and healthy in his new furever home!! Yayyyy Archie!! ❤️
