Sun May 31- this little guy is on the move again.
Please don't call out to him, chase him or feed him.
Please contact one of the people listed below with any sightings

Update
There have been many people wondering how the search is going.
Shaggy ( his team have lovingly nicknamed him) has been staying in the area we want him to.
Thank you to everyone for not chasing him and just reporting sightings, this is working to help him relax and settle .
Traps and cameras continue to be monitored 24/7.

The team continues to work 24/7 to secure this dog.
Again PLEASE if you see him contact one of the team members listed below.
DO NOT get out of your car, chase him, call him or think you can catch him.
The more people who keep doing this are making him be more scared which causes him to keep moving out of the area we want him to stay in.
This is what happened last weekend and he ended up at Cobble Beach, he has since made his way back to the East side where he seems most comfortable and where the initial sighting was almost 1.5 weeks ago.
We understand everyone wants to help but the best way to do that is contact his team.
Traps and cameras are set which are continually monitored 24/7 but we need him to feel like he can stop and stay in the area without constantly being on the run.

We thank everyone who has connected with sightings.

There's something truly powerful about standing in the streets of Toronto with hundreds of people who share your values. Yesterday's animal rights march reminded me that we are not alone in this fight. 🐾✊

Animals suffer every single day because of a sense of human entitlement — the idea that they exist for our food, our clothing, our experiments, our entertainment. But if the thought of a dog or cat enduring any of that breaks your heart, ask yourself: why should it be any different for any other animal?

Consistency is compassion. Every animal deserves the same empathy we so freely give to the ones we call pets.

So grateful to be part of a community that gets it. 💚

Darla / F / 10Y / 8lbs / Shih Tzu mix / Fostered in Toronto

Darla wasted no time making herself at home, and whoever adopts her will quickly understand why — this girl is adorable, sweet, calm, and just the right amount of sassy.

Life with Darla: morning and evening walks where she trots along happily, completely focused on every glorious smell (her leash manners are perfection), followed by a well-deserved snooze on the couch — or wherever the sunshine happens to be. Darla is a certified sunbeam chaser, and if there's a warm patch of light anywhere in the house, she will find it! ☀️

She is independent, brave, and totally unbothered by the world around her. She hardly ever barks, isn't reactive on leash, and has met over 15 new people without batting an eye. Fearless is her middle name!

Darla is:
✅ Nearly fully potty-trained (uses p*e pads only occasionally)
✅ Trusted to free roam — no crate needed
✅ Great with dogs, cats, and kids
✅ A dream in the car (quiet as a mouse in her carrier)
✅ Calm and relaxed — with fun bursts of energy on walks!

Darla does have a grade 3 heart murmur but is doing well and currently requires no medication. She had a dental while in our care and had 7 teeth removed.

Her ideal home is someone who's around most of the time and is fully on board with a couch-and-bed co-sleeping arrangement — because Darla will absolutely be joining you. 🛋️

Ruckus is looking for a foster or adopter! Please share❤️

Ruckus / M / 8Y / Boxer / 80lbs / Fostered in Toronto

Ruckus is a lovable, people-oriented guy who just wants to be by your side — and we mean that literally! Whether you're on the couch, in bed, or out for a walk, Ruckus wants to be right there with you, ideally touching you so he knows you're close. He's the kind of dog who will make you feel like the most important person in the world — expect plenty of cuddles and affectionate head-butts to prove it.

Ruckus absolutely loves his walks and being outside, but being an older guy, doesn’t have the stamina for long walks or hikes. Ruckus often barks at or pulls towards other dogs when leash walking, so his new family will need to be patient while working on his leash reactivity (treats help!). He thrives on a good routine and currently enjoys a couple of medium walks a day plus frequent potty breaks. He would also be fine with a few short walks and fenced in yard to lounge in. He enjoys chew toys, the occasional play session, and sniffing in nature. He sleeps soundly through the night on a dog bed next to his foster parents’ bed, happiest when he knows his people are close.

Ruckus loves children and all people. He enjoys other dogs, but does best with dogs closer to his own size, as he loves to play and can get a little enthusiastic — and with his strength, smaller dogs may find him a bit much. He would also do best with calmer dogs. Cats, however, are not the right match for Ruckus, so a cat-free home is a must.

Ruckus has been doing great with alone time in foster — he's been left for up to four hours and is found happily napping on the sofa when his people return. His house manners are also great! He is a polite boy who will tell you when he needs to go if it’s outside of his usual potty break rotation.

Ruckus received some important veterinary care while in foster. He had a dental procedure that included removing 21 teeth and several small oral masses — he's all healed up and feeling much better for it! He does have bilateral cruciate disease in his hind legs. After a specialist consultation, surgery is not recommended for him, but he is managing well on daily meloxicam and is getting around comfortably.

Ruckus is a strong, devoted companion who is ready to be your shadow. If you're looking for a loyal dog who just wants to love you and share a good daily routine together, Ruckus might just be your guy. Could you be the forever home he's been waiting for?
