Check out all these very cute and creative costumes from our Halloween Trick or Trot Fun Show!
Each year the costumes are so creative and impressive. A successful show and our last one of the season for 2025.
What an incredible year of fun shows it has been. It’s been wonderful watching the progression in the riders, the dedication, the support from fellow riders, barn friends, parents, and family members, and most importantly the love of the horses!
A huge thank you to all who are involved with making these shows a success from our admin team, judges, coaches, barn staff, volunteers and everyone in between that helps. It wouldn’t be possible without you! ❤️

It’s Halloween theme week! With candy and custom stickers, who doesn’t like winning a little sweet treat for their hard work in their lessons.
It’s clear by their smiles these awesome young riders definitely had a fun time!

Being gentle with a horse does not mean letting the horse push you around and place you in danger. Horses need to have ground manners. They need to stand reliably for the farrier and the veterinarian. They need to stand quietly while you are mounting or dismounting. They need to let you groom them, bridle them, saddle them without dancing around.
It is not that the horse is allowed free rein. Teaching basic manners, though, is a lot different from routinely smacking a horse around, yanking on the bit with rough hands, grinding on the horse in schooling sessions, or cranking the horse into draw reins or other leverage devices.
Part of being well trained is that the horse respects human boundaries, but the good trainers use only as much pressure as needed to create respect and only in situations that to do otherwise allows dangerous behavior.

We highly recommend riders wear safety vests. While it’s mandatory for cross country jumping, it is still very highly recommended for flat and jumping. Here’s a good opportunity to get yours on sale! A worthwhile investment.

✨ Sunday was an incredible day of learning at Royale! ✨
We kicked things off with “Understanding Horse Body Language” 🐴 — where participants even got a special surprise: a free horse book to take home! 📖💜
Next up, we welcomed a Teletoon artist from the Ottawa Drawing Club 🎨 for a hands-on session all about drawing horses. Riders sketched a few different types of horses, but the star of the show was our gentle giant, Chance the Clydesdale, who soaked up all the attention (as always!). 🐎💕
It was a day filled with smiles, creativity, and lots of horse love. 💫

✨ Sometimes a picture really does say it all…
If you had to pick 3 words that describes what horses mean to you. What 3 words would you use?

Just a few of the happy faces from our Labour Day Horse Show Yesterday!!!
The show was a success with beautiful weather and so much love for the horses, great team work, sportsmanship, and support from fellow riders, family and friends.
This is what horse shows should be about. Celebrating riders hard work, love and great care for our horses, and having fun while learning and improving.
