Hi lovely humans of Ottawa Puppy Loft! Just a friendly reminder to send us a quick message when you’re on your way for pick-up or drop-off ☺️

When we know someone’s arriving, we can make sure:
✔️ Your pup is prepped and ready to go
✔️ Transitions stay calm and smooth for all the dogs
✔️ No one gets too excited or overwhelmed
✔️ We’re not caught mid-clean-up with a p**p bag in each hand 😂

Preparing pumpkin molds today ❤️

Sometimes due to change of routine/schedule, dogs can get upset stomachs while boarding. We make pumpkin molds for when this happens. When we have a pup with an upset stomach, we take one out of the freezer, let it thaw and add it to their meal. Always super great to have these on hand! 100% pumpkin puree.

With August being so busy, we really encourage everyone to book ahead of time. We cannot guarantee last minute requests.

We also want to remind everyone that on weekends we open at 10 AM. If drop off is needed earlier than 10 AM, then drop off the night before will be required. Unfortunately, with the increase of boarders, food and medication schedules, potty/walk schedules it’s just no longer feasible to be accepting dogs earlier than 10 AM on weekends. Hopefully everyone understands. Thank you everyone for all your support and continued cooperation. ❤️

As the high heat and humidity continue around the region, here is some important information from our friends at the Ottawa Humane Society.

Severe weather warning! With the temperature soaring into the high 30s this week, let’s keep our pets cool and safe. Heat waves can pose serious risks to our pets, so here are some essential tips to ensure they stay cool and happy.
• Shorten your outdoor walks, try going for early morning or late evening strolls when it's cooler. Pavements can get dangerously hot, avoid hot pavement whenever possible to protect their paws.
• Make sure you keep their water bowl filled and readily available at all times. Hydration helps regulate their body temperature and keeps them from overheating.
• Watch for symptoms of overheating like excessive panting, weakness or even collapsing and contact your veterinarian if you pet is showing these symptoms.
• High temperatures can quickly kill an animal left alone in a car. If you see an animal alone in a vehicle with no owner in sight, call 911.

Happy March everyone!! 🌸🌷☀️

For the next couple of weeks we are at full capacity for boarding. The dogs are having a great time and enjoying this weather! We know everyone is eager to get updates and pictures of their dogs when they are away! Just a friendly reminder that due to it being such a busy time, it may take a little longer to respond to messages, picture/update requests, and phone calls. There may be slightly longer waits at pick up or drop off time because we want to ensure all precautions are taken before doors open. Everyone has been so great and understanding, and we really really appreciate it ❤️❤️

Good morning, everyone! Garage door is open so you can pull in there at drop off to avoid having to walk on ice! Driveway is salted, but just to be extra safe, feel free to use the garage! ❤️❤️
