🚨 Our Hospital Manager is officially off duty… and not by choice. 🚨

Miss Gala unfortunately suffered a uremic crisis accompanied by neurological signs earlier this week. Thankfully, she decided to get sick while actively supervising the clinic (as any dedicated manager would), which meant our team was able to jump into action and provide immediate care.

She has now been hospitalized for 3 days and is receiving around-the-clock treatment, plenty of cuddles, and perhaps a little too much attention from the staff. ❤️

We’re cautiously optimistic and hoping our sweet girl continues to improve over the coming days.

Please send Gala all your positive thoughts, good vibes, and healing wishes. We know she has an entire community cheering her on. 🐾✨

Yesterday, Dr. Natalia fell in love with Mimo. ❤️

This sweet little boy came to see us with severe bilateral entropion, a condition where the eyelids roll inward, causing the eyelashes and skin to rub against the surface of the eyes. As you can imagine, this is very painful and uncomfortable. 😔

Unfortunately, Mimo had already developed a significant corneal ulcer as a result. Because he’s still so tiny, he’s not yet a candidate for permanent corrective surgery, so today we performed a temporary eyelid tacking procedure to help protect his eyes and keep him comfortable while he grows.

Mimo was incredibly brave throughout the entire process. Within no time, he was back on his feet, asking for attention and making air biscuits. 🥹🐾

We’re so proud of this little fighter and hope he’s feeling much more comfortable very soon. ❤️

Meet Lauren and Karen!

Lauren is one of our veterinary assistants, and Karen volunteers her time with us while pursuing her passion for animal care. Their dedication, kindness, and willingness to jump in wherever needed have been essential to our growth as a new clinic.

Both are incredibly talented, hardworking, and compassionate individuals, and we have no doubt they have bright futures ahead of them in the veterinary profession. We are so grateful to have them as part of the Vetter family. ❤️

It might be a small team, but it’s full of passion, kindness, and dedication to animals and the people who love them.

Meet Camila, our Veterinary Technician! 🐾
She is a veterinarian from Brazil and has been working as a Vet Tech in Ottawa for the past 5 years. She’s incredibly hardworking, adores animals, and has a special passion for animal physiotherapy.

Next is Elisa, our Veterinary Assistant 💛
She is also a veterinarian from Brazil, and this is her first experience working in veterinary medicine in Canada! She brings valuable experience in emergency medicine and is excited to begin this new chapter in such an amazing industry.

And finally, meet Grace, our Care Coordinator 🌿
With her calm and welcoming energy, she helps guide our clients and patients through their visits with care and compassion. Her dream is to become a veterinarian in the future!

A week of firsts at Vetter Pet Care ✨

This week we used our OR for the very first time, completed our first procedures in our dental suite, and performed our first ultrasound with our brand new machine! What an exciting milestone for our team 🩺

One of the things we love most about veterinary medicine is how technology and modern equipment allow us to help our patients more efficiently, more accurately, and with an even higher standard of care.
