Freddy Flyers Flyball Club Freddy Flyers is a team in Fredericton/Oromocto area who love to race and grow the sport of Flyball. Freddy Flyers is a non-profit flyball club.

We want to promote the sport of flyball as defined by the North American Flyball Association (NAFA). Freddy Flyers is located in the Fredericton/Oromocto area. We train in flyball and compete in flyball tournaments throughout the Maritimes and State of Maine. Training is open to all dogs and is done in a safe manner through positive training. We are devoted to our dogs and the sport of flyball.

Sadie is getting closer and closer to being ready to race. She has come a long way in the last 6 months. Full runs while carrying her ball and to being able to pass into and out on another dog. We are proud of Matt and Sadie for their dedication. Now to get a couple of dogs in the other lane to push Sadie a little closer to racing.

We would like to introduce Bart to Freddy Flyers Club! This unexpected, on the spot decision when it was love at first sight, attended his first Flyball practice last night. Bart is an almost 10 month old hairless Chinese Crested. He has only been in NB with Lisa for a week and is adjusting very well to living with his Chocolate Labs and Westie housemates and his love for cheese is strong like theirs. We are excited to see what he can do. Everyone say hi to Bart!

Our greenies. Last weekend at the tournament we had 8 of our greenies there. It was the first time for two of them to be in a tournament setting and they did well with the distraction and noises. Well done Bowser and Willow. Luka did amazing with carrying her ball over 4 jumps and right to Robyn. Best yet!!! Sadie is showing she can rock green dogs with her full runs, next she will be trying single dog racing. Denver was more focus on his full runs, RZA showed how much she loves her pink tug, Skor work on his box with all the distractions and Brynn is building confidence. Well done greenies.

Our club couldn’t be more excited to introduce our newest club dog Brynn. She is a 10 month old Border Collie. We are so happy for our member Alyssa and her daughter for welcoming Brynn into their family.

We are excited to watch Brynn “B” and Alyssa grow as a team and watch their bond and confidence get stronger through Flyball.

Brynn already has her own personalized Flyball collar and is ready to learn.

We survived our first tournament of the season. We were dealt a bad hand a couple of weeks prior to the tournament when our member Alyssa lost her beloved Khira, one of our solid fulltime dogs. So we need to pivoted… Trek was only supposed to do warmups at this tournament but oh well lets throw him in the first race of the day and debut him. He did GREAT and earning his FD and FDX titles both on Saturday. However, then our club was hit with another curve ball on Saturday when one of our senior part time dogs Finnick got injured and needed to be pulled. Meaning that we needed to pivot again. Bella was our other senior part time dog that shared a spot with Finnick, we had to throw her in full time, something she hasn’t done in two years. But then other problem was that Bella and Trek both only run anchor. So here we go again just throwing Trek into a situation where all we could do was try it because we had no other options and of course he did it like a champ. Trek was definitely the superstar of the weekend.

Therefore, with everything that was thrown at us that we in turn threw more at Trek this weekend, we are extremely happy with how everything went over there the weekend. We placed 2nd on Saturday and 4th on Sunday. Which we will take any day of the week because going into the tournament weekend we were worried we could only run 3 dogs and need to run exhibition.

Our Green Dogs all did so well in the tournament setting, they are adjusting to all the noises and energies. One little greenie this weekend impressed us all, since she has been struggling at practices with carrying her ball, however Sadie showed us over the weekend that she just keeps that stuff for the big shows. Not only did Sadie carry her ball all the way every time (Saturday and Sunday) but she also got a new PB of 6.520.

To end the weekend Chip received his Onyx Award plaque that he reached last September. He is a staple for our club, as he is solid, he will run with any dog, any handler, any position and won’t come back without that ball. His mom thinks he is Mr. Perfect, and we think she “might” be right.

We can’t wait to do it all again in a few weeks

Day 1 of the 1st tournament of the season was a big one for Trek. His first tournament with his flyball mom marked his debut, earning him his FD and FDX titles.

He is also looks forward to seeing everyone next weekend at our region’s first tournament of the season. This season is going to be a big one for Trek.
