Comfie Cat Shelter Established in 2005, situated in Orillia, Ontario, the Comfie Cat Shelter stands as a beacon of hope for felines in need.

Dedicated to tackling the challenges of overpopulation, abandonment, and neglect, we proudly operate as a no-kill sanctuary for cats. The Comfie Cat Shelter is a no-kill shelter founded in 2005 to address the issue of the over population of abandoned cats. The shelter was established because the number of cats being abandoned or neglected is increasing every year. The members/volunteers of The Com

fie Cat Shelter believe in helping cats in need. If accepted, cats surrendered by their owners must be defleaed and vaccinated. Cats that have been rescued or accepted from people who are no longer able to care for them, are given veterinary care and medication when required. Cats and older kittens are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Kittens too young to be spayed/neutered come with a $50 certificate to be refunded when proof of spay/neuter is shown. Until recently all of the cats were kept in foster homes until permanent homes could be found for them. The foster homes are screened for their ability to give quality care and a loving environment to the cats or kittens. While we continue to use foster homes when needed, we now have a location at 112 Norweld Drive. in Orillia and we invite the public to make an appointment at (705) 326-1545 to visit and meet the cats for adoption.

🍦 Meet Milkshake 🍦

Born in October 2018, Milkshake came to the shelter as a stray in October 2023. She’s a shy girl who can be sweet once she feels comfortable. 💕 Milkshake really wants to love people and get all the affection, but she’s still very unsure and takes her time to trust new humans.

She enjoys a good head scratch and will sometimes rub against your legs when she’s in the mood for attention. 🥰 However, when she’s had enough, she’ll gently pull away or give a quick swat if you don’t take the hint. Milkshake’s delicate mouth has seen most of her teeth removed due to severe stomatitis discovered when she was surrendered, but she still eats kibble just fine, though she definitely prefers her wet food! 🥫😺

Because she’s quite skittish, Milkshake might be scared of dogs and would likely do best in a home without them. She gets along well with other cats and would thrive in a calm environment without children, as she can startle easily. 🐈🚫👶

If you’re looking for a gentle, shy sweetheart who just needs a patient and loving home, Milkshake could be the perfect match! 💖

Born in July 2024, Harley is a stunning young gentleman with a thick, velvet-black coat and piercing green eyes that are sure to capture your heart. While he is a bit timid when first meeting new people, he is a deeply friendly soul once he feels safe and secure in his environment. He is the type of cat who appreciates a slow and steady approach, and once you have earned his trust, he truly enjoys leaning in for pets and human interaction. 🖤✨

This week we are absolutely overjoyed to share that our wonderful Scout has found his furever home! 🎉❤️

Whether she was waiting for just the right lap to curl up in or the perfect window to watch the world go by, Scout has officially found the family she's been dreaming of. 🏡🐱💖 We couldn't be happier to see her begin the next chapter filled with endless comfort, cozy naps, and all the love in the world.

Sometimes it only takes one very special adoption to make our entire week. A huge thank you to Scout's wonderful new family for choosing rescue, and to our incredible community for cheering her on along the way! 💕

Another week is here, and our adoptable kitties are ready to steal your heart! 😻 If you are looking to add some joy and purrs to your life, come visit the wonderful cats and kittens waiting for you at PetSmart Orillia.

Our incredible volunteers will be on-site during the hours listed in the graphic to introduce you to our residents, answer your questions, and guide you every step of the way through the adoption process. 💕

🐾 Meet Archie! 🐾

Born in December 2018, Archie was sadly surrendered to us after his owner developed allergies. Through no fault of his own, this sweet boy is now looking for a new forever family to love. 💛

Archie is incredibly affectionate and truly enjoys being around his people. He loves following you from room to room, just to be part of whatever you’re doing. 🐾💕 Pets and cuddles are at the top of his favourite-things list, and he’s always happy to soak up as much attention as you’re willing to give.

He can be okay with some cats but would do best in a calmer home environment, where he can relax and feel secure. Archie thrives on companionship and would make a wonderful addition to a quiet household looking for a loyal, loving companion.

There is nothing quite like the wiggle of a kitten's ears when they’re finally full. 🥰

Feeding week-old neonates requires an incredible amount of patience, gentle hands, and a whole lot of love. Today, we want to give a massive shoutout to our incredible foster team. They are the absolute backbone of our shelter, opening up their hearts and homes to provide this life-saving, round-the-clock care so these tiny babies can grow big and strong. We truly couldn't do this without you! 🧡

Because kitten season is in full swing, our doors are always open for more heroes. We are always looking for new fosters to join our crew! Whether you can take bottle babies, older kittens, or adult cats, we provide the supplies and training, you just provide the safe space and love. 🍼✨
