Howl-o-ween is quickly approaching. Here's a few tips to help keep your pets safe! 🎃

Tip #1: Keep all Halloween goodies away from your pets. Chocolate and other yummy treats are okay for us humans to consume but for dogs and cats, it can be very dangerous. Keep an eye out for Halloween décor like pumpkins and corn too!

Tip #2: Dress up your pets in appropriately fitted costumes. Costumes that are too tight or heavy can cause your pet to be very uncomfortable, overheated and stressed. Watch out for choking hazards too like small plastic parts on a costume.

Tip #3: Keep pets away from the front door. With a constant stream of strangers approaching the door all night, it can be overwhelming for some pets. Find a safe place they can hang out for the evening upstairs or in the basement.

Tip #4: Don’t leave pets unattended outdoors. Halloween is famous for a night of pranksters, ghouls and goblins roaming the streets after dark. This can be very scary for your pets (and humans too)! Keep pets indoors for the evening or accompany dogs outside for their evening bathroom break.

Tip #5: Make sure your pet has proper ID. If your pet(s) manage to escape through all the Halloween commotion, be sure to have proper identification already in place so that they can easily be found and returned home.

Allow me to introduce myself ! Hi! My name is Hailey and I will be your pet sitter while you're away on a much needed vacation. Currently I am employed at the SPCA as an animal care attendant/ animal control officer. I am furever thankful for my job because it has allowed me to receive much needed training and has pawsitively benefited me throughout this new business venture. I have a big heart and most of it is full of animals I've met throughout my life. I hope I get the opportunity to meet your special furry friends.
