Fireworks may be fun for humans, but many dogs struggle with the scary sounds.

Keep them safe and help decrease their anxiety by doing the following:
1. Keep you dog indoors during the festivities. If they need to toilet, keep them on a leash.

2. Give them a safe, quiet place. A windowless room or your basement are much quieter so they will be less likely to react to the noise.

3. Play music or turn the television up to help drown out the noise.

4. Keep them busy. Do some training with special treats. Give them a puzzle or treat toy. Stuff a Kong for them to lick.
