Saturday Puppy & Teen Manners students learning go to bed when their hooman is busy.
When you are busy cooking in the kitchen, you have zoom business meeting, friends are visiting, relaxing and watching movies.. sometimes we need “alone time” regardless how much we love our fur family🥹
This is when our puppy students know where to go instead of asking your attention, food…
It needs to have continuous daily practice to help them to be able to “choose” to go their hot zone but oh my goodness when they click, it’s like a magic🙌🙌
Hot Zone bed practice is not only for the naps and go to sleep purpose.
It’s for them to choose their own relaxing place anytime😊

April Wednesday evening Puppy Manners students had such a big night on their first school day🥹🐶
Cedar completely understood the break verbal cue, Hera totally woke up from the nap and loved her first I live my name game, Bao learned sit stay for 5 seconds already, Marty understood the difference between sit and down, Lily slowly started to be able to sniff new hooman, Seymour found out “touched by harness” is actually not a bad thing at all and Kielbasa walked around other dogs without hiding🥰🥹
First week session is always a big big surprise to hooman and fur students the beginning of puppy’s life journey is such a gift🤍🤍🤍

Agility Kindergarten semi-private classes graduates sweet Daisy & Beans🥰🥳
Our kindergarten agility made Beans and her mama to run the course with a new different way of connecting each other and for Daisy since it’s her seconds round of course she rocked it like a super star with her mama💃🙌
Congratulations to everybody you all did so great and I was so privileged to have worked with such amazing hooman and fur students🙏🙏

Vet visit can be pretty intimidating to many puppies.
We help them to know “to be touched by muzzle and the jaw is pleasant and relaxing”

9 years ago few years after I became certified professional dog trainer I worked as a lead trainer at dog daycare Wag Zone.
Those experience really helped me to grow as a dog trainer and started to have more education of animal behaviours.
I’m forever grateful those humble and meaningful experience.
Without those time Bow Wow Academy was never born🙏🐶

Focus and watch me👀👀
We use this cue during the walk, in the classroom when we want our puppy to look at us and listen to us.
We shape the behavior first which is very important because when you start telling them verbal cue before the behavior is reliable they won’t understand the verbal cue associated with the specific behavior you are teaching them.
Always make sure the behavior is completely understood by puppy and add the verbal cue🙌🐶

Ready to go!!!!
Our new series of Puppy Manners students just finished their very first kindergarten session🥹🐶🥰
Some very outgoing, some shy, some easy going, all different personalities and temperament in the classroom.
We are making sure nobody is too overwhelmed and everybody is getting used to be around other people and dogs one step at a time.
All learned their names and release cue🙌

Today we had over 30 dogs graduated from Puppy/Teen/Advanced and Agility classes🥳🥳🥳
It’s one of the most rewarding time for us to witness their stronger bond with their hooman and new skills🙌
By consistent work on daily basis with your pup is the secret to have steady recall and stronger impulse control.

Puppy Manners Hot Zone exercise🛏️🛏️
Bed is not only for sleeping.
Bed/Zone is the area where puppy chooses to go chill and relax instead of coming up to us begging food or attention.
These students learned to choose to go to their zone while other pups are jumping around🙌🙌

Shy puppy started to be more comfortable to sniff and play with other dogs, outgoing puppy was able to stay focus more with their hoomans🙌🐶
