Minden Animal Hospital

Minden Animal Hospital Minden Animal Hospital is the place to go for friendly & caring service for you and your furry family

At the Minden Animal hospital, it is clear we’re all animal lovers with 40+ pets between us. Each staff member is dedicated to making your pets’ visit to the hospital as anxiety free as possible. This may explain why so many of our clients tell us that their dogs happily run to the door of the hospital, and pull their owners down the hall to our exam rooms for their weigh in and examination. We tr

eat them like our own animals and want their visit with us to be stress free and fun even if they are having procedures they do not want. At the Minden Animal Hospital you will find proactive wellness exams to prevent many health crises, acting on small problems before they become big ones. Instead of treating symptoms, the cause of the problem is addressed and your animals get better in far less time. Education on preventive measures to keep pets healthy or to catch problems early on, helps your pets live longer and healthier lives. This full service clinic offers internal medicine; surgery, dentistry, radiology, in- house diagnostics, comfort priority protocols including therapeutic laser treatments, pharmacy on site, alternative medicine, house calls, specialist referrals (or they travel to our hospital) and second mile service, with a smile, every time you come in. Because sometimes illness in our pets happens at an inopportune time and financing some treatment plans can be tough, we offer payment plans and credit care for our clients. Call us today to book an appointment so we can meet you and your pet!

We wear the purple poppy to honour the brave animals who served beside our soldiers — loyal, fearless, and never forgotten. 🕊💜

We remember the four-legged heroes who gave their lives in service — the dogs, horses, donkeys, pigeons, cats and mules whose courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 💜

MAH welcomes Hamish as our newest patient, this 8 week old great Pyrenees mix is a total sweetheart and we can't wait to watch him grow! He got his first vaccine today and some dewormer (because 93% of canines have intestinal parasites) and his heartworm flea and tick prevention at 10% off. Mum and dad signed him up on a wellness plan so his next 2 puppy visits, his dewormer and his Neuter are all included with 10% of his prevention! Can't wait to see you soon Hamish!

🐾 Summit’s Road to Recovery! 🐾

Summit, our 4-year-old Husky mix, absolutely LOVES coming to see us — and we love seeing his handsome face too! 💙

A few weeks ago, Summit came in with some pretty bad neck (cervical) pain that was making him cry 😢. Together with his amazing family, we created a treatment plan that included muscle relaxants, mild sedatives to help him rest, and a big dose of TLC. His parents also started a 6-session laser therapy treatment with us and took him to a Specialist Canine Chiropractor.

We’re so happy to share that Summit is doing so much better! He’s almost back to his happy, energetic self and no longer being held back by that painful neck. With just a few more laser sessions, we’re hoping he’ll be 100% again! 🐶✨

💡 Ask us about laser therapy at your next visit — it can make a world of difference!

🌟 Veterinary Technician Appreciation 🌟
Today we’re celebrating Priscilla — a true gem at Minden Animal Hospital!
From breeding bunnies with her mom as a child to being glued to episodes of Animal Cops Houston, Priscilla’s love for animals runs deep. Her favorite skills? Precision blood draws, flawless catheter placements, and a clip-and-clean that leaves pets looking and feeling their best. 🐾✂️
But what really lights her up is helping sick patients recover and thrive and knowing she was a part of their healing. She takes the time to know each pet and their parent — building bonds that go far beyond the exam room. That’s why she’d never be a locum. Minden Animal Hospital isn’t just where she works — it’s her home. 💙
Thank you, Priscilla, for your compassion, your skill, and your heart. We’re so lucky to have you on our team!

🌟 Team Spotlight: Madi, Veterinary Technician 🌟

From a young age, Madi has always had a special connection with animals — so it’s no surprise she found her calling in veterinary medicine! 🐾

As one of our amazing Veterinary Technicians, Madi loves being able to help pets every day. One of her favorite technical skills is performing blood draws, but she also finds deep meaning in being there for families during home euthanasias — helping beloved pets cross the rainbow bridge peacefully and supporting families through that difficult moment with care and compassion. 🌈❤️

We’re so grateful to have Madi on our team, sharing her skill, empathy, and heart with every patient she meets! 💕

🚨 Corn Cobs Can Be Dangerous for Dogs 🚨

Lately, we’ve seen more pets needing surgery to remove items they’ve swallowed — and corn cobs are one of the most common culprits.

While they might seem harmless, corn cobs don’t break down in the stomach and can cause dangerous blockages in the intestines. Signs your pet may have eaten something they shouldn’t include:

🔸 Vomiting
🔸 Loss of appetite
🔸 Lethargy
🔸 Abdominal pain

👉 If you suspect your pet has ingested a foreign object, contact your veterinarian right away. Early intervention can make all the difference.

Let’s keep our pets safe — please don’t share corn cobs or leave them where curious noses can reach them! 🐾

Well, Hetfield had such a blast hanging out with us yesterday that he decided to make it a two-day event! 🐾 Today’s visit came with a surprise twist—surgery. Turns out his “gourmet” choice of steak bones🥩 and corncobs 🌽the other night caused a painful obstruction, a common but serious risk when pets ingest inappropriate items. But true to form, Hetfield was a total trooper 💪. Brave, sweet boy is already on the mend and headed back to feeling fantastic.💫 We’re so proud of him! We hope his story helps remind pet parents to keep tempting but risky table scraps out of reach. 🐶💙

🚨 Garbage Bandit Alert! 🚨
Mr. Hetfield, our 154lb Leonberger heartthrob, decided to go dumpster diving and got himself into a bit of trouble. But don’t let his naughty snack choices fool you—he was an absolute angel for his x-rays, thanks to the calming presence of our amazing ACA Hannah 💕.
With a face this handsome, it’s hard to stay mad… especially when mom works at the vet! Time to clear out that tummy before it causes a really tough sick day.

This handsome 15-week-old Blue Heeler X came in to see Dr. Jenn because his tummy wasn’t feeling its best. Luckily, his awesome dad got him some medication to help settle things down. 💊💙
We’ll be seeing Turbo again soon for his vaccines—and we can’t wait! Feel better soon, Turbo! You’ve got a whole fan club cheering you on. 🐕✨
