2018 16.3hh Thoroughbred Gelding (not raced)
Rossi is a very fun forgiving guy who has taken his kid from 2ft to the .90 divisions in a few short years. Schooling 1.0 and occasionally bigger at home.
Loves to show, hacks out great and jumps logs and all the fences with ease. Lovely flat work would do well in the Dressage ring.
Rides in a leather snaffle but can go in anything (we just found he had a reaction to rubber).
Safe on the ground, bathing and trailering. For clipping his ears he can get a bit sensitive but works through it fine.
Not a whoa or go type just a nice simple ride. If you ask for speed he has it if you want a loose rein and to just chill he has it. Oh did we mention he is a soccer ball champion, loves playing with the horse sized soccer ball.
Has had zero injection, and no maintenance. Does have a saddle that he loves and fits him well, that can be bought with him. Has regular bodywork, 4 shoes (has been barefoot in the past but our ground is abrasive so needs shoes here).
Does not have a trainer riding him in between the kids days. She rides him 3-5 days a week. Does not need a lunge at home or at the shows. Doesn’t like earplugs so can go without or a sound proof bonnet. Does get Durwell calm cookies at the shows that is enough. Steps off the trailer ready to do his job.
He would do great with turnout, love to play with friends.
He eats a lot of alfalfa. We wouldn’t say he is a hard keeper. Currently on a mineral supplement, land & sea oil and an ulcer prevention called UTP.
Overall a very nice gelding to have in the barn. Will be missed but she wants to try her hand at starting young one.
