Fridays hikes seem to be cursed with wasps - 2 weeks in a row now we've disturbed an underground nest. This time I wasn't the only victim, and poor Pippa was so traumatized she ran all the way back to the car. While the warm weather and swimming is enjoyable, I did not miss the bugs that come with summer!

‼️ Group Class Alert ‼️

Life Skills:

A 6 week class that goes beyond basic obedience. This class lays the foundations to help you and your dog live a cohesive life together. From managing excitement, to nail trims, to loose leash walking and recall, the goal of this class is to set you and your dog up with the skills needed to understand each other, and enjoy life together!

When: 4:30-5:30 PM, Tuesday evenings starting June 16th.

Where: Just Believe K9 Training & Flyball

Cost: $225 + GST

Recall Rockstars:

This 6 week class focuses on... you! The goal of this class is to build a speedy, enthusiastic, and reliable recall with your dog regardless of what's going on in the world around you. This games based class teaches your dog that YOU are the most fun and exciting thing around!

When: 4:30-5:30PM, Fridays beginning June 19th.

Where: Just Believe K9 Training & Flyball

Cost: $225 + GST

Miss Peaches is working on her extreme reactivity towards other dogs 🍑

This was our second session - we're working on her owners staying neutral. It takes a lot of work to let go of fears and allow yourself to relax with your reactive dog, but the result?

This! Neutrality. Less panic from the dog. A calmer mind that can make better decisions.

This team still has a ways to go, and we are still figuring out what tools will serve them best as a team, but I am so proud of the progress they made this session.

And go Whisper, a former explosively reactive girl herself, now helping other dogs to be more confident and under control 💪

We worked on:

🐕‍🦺 loose leash walking, no food in hand

🏃‍♀️ recall and play, to get our dogs excited about us

😌 just existing together, sitting and doing nothing

Friday's hikers! No group photo today as, in spite of the fact that it is only May and there shouldn't be any wasps out yet, the dogs zoomed through a nest in the ground and I ended up getting stung several times and felt sorry for myself on our way back to the vehicle.
