Meet the team!

Last but certainly not least, we’d like to introduce Campbell! As a veterinary assistant, Campbell plays an important role in patient care and supporting our veterinary team throughout the day. Her support helps keep our patients comfortable and our team moving efficiently throughout the day. ☺️

“Born and raised in the beautiful Okanagan, I grew up on a farm surrounded by horses, goats, chickens, dogs, and cats. This lifestyle naturally sparked my passion for animals and veterinary medicine from a young age. Horses have always been a huge part of my life, and I spent over 15 years riding and competing in show jumping, creating memories and experiences that shaped who I am today.

I started my veterinary career in an emergency clinic, where I gained invaluable experience working in fast-paced and high-pressure situations. After two years in the veterinary field, I’m excited to continue my journey in general practice, where I love building connections with clients, caring for their pets, and continuing to learn and grow every day.

When I’m not at the clinic, you’ll usually find me outdoors - horseback riding, fishing, swimming, or traveling around the Okanagan to try new wineries and soak in the beauty of where I grew up. I also love spending time with my friends and relaxing on the beach in the summer with a good book in hand. At home, I live with my boyfriend, and we hope to one day add a furry companion of our own to the family. I feel incredibly lucky to combine my love for animals, the outdoors, and connecting with people into a career I’m truly passionate about.”

Meet the team!

Next up in our staff introductions is Wendy! As a veterinary technician, Wendy is involved in many aspects of patient care and works closely with our veterinarians to help provide the best possible care for our patients. ☺️

Born and raised in Oyama, Wendy has always had a deep passion for animals and knew from an early age that a career in veterinary medicine was exactly where she belonged. She pursued her education through Olds College and has now been working as a veterinary technician for more than 30 years.

Throughout her career, Wendy has dedicated herself to providing compassionate care to animals and supporting the families who love them. Her experience, knowledge, and genuine love for animals shine through in everything she does.

Wendy lives in Lake Country with her husband, daughter, and their two beloved fur babies, Douglas and Butter. Outside of work, she can often be found driving the ski boat for her husband, an avid waterskier, or enjoying walks along the rail trail with the dogs.

Animals have always been at the center of Wendy’s life, and after more than three decades in the field, her passion for veterinary medicine remains as strong as ever.

Meet the team!

Next up in our staff introductions is Jolene! As a veterinary assistant/kennel attendant, Jolene plays an important role in patient care and in keeping the clinic organized and running smoothly behind the scenes. ☺️

Growing up on a small farm in Golden, Jolene developed a lifelong love for animals while helping care for pigs, chickens, turkeys, horses, and countless cats and dogs. Her passion for animal care began early and has continued to shape both her personal and professional life.

With more than ten years of experience working in veterinary clinics and as a pet groomer, Jolene brings compassion, dedication, and hands-on knowledge to every animal she cares for. While she loves all animals, cats hold a special place in her heart, and she proudly considers herself a true “crazy cat lady.”

At home in Oyama, she shares her life with three cats and one dog, and she also fosters cats and kittens through the Okanagan Humane Society.

Outside of work, much of her time is spent at the softball field, where she coaches her awesome daughter and plays alongside her amazing husband. When they’re not on the diamond, their family loves spending time at the lake near their home, swimming and paddleboarding whenever they can.

Her love for animals has been a lifelong passion, and she feels incredibly fortunate to turn that passion into a career.

Meet the team!

This week, we’ll be introducing the amazing team behind Lake Country Veterinary Clinic, starting with Camille! As our receptionist/assistant, Camille is often the first person you’ll connect with at Lake Country Veterinary Clinic—whether you’re calling to book an appointment or visiting us in person. She helps keep everything running smoothly while making sure every patient and client feels welcome. ☺️

Camille was born and raised in the beautiful Okanagan and has always had a deep love for animals, growing up surrounded by pets of all kinds. Her lifelong connection with animals inspired her passion for veterinary care and supporting the people who care so deeply for them. Over the past two years working in the veterinary field, she has gained hands-on experience helping pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for during their visits. She has also had the unique opportunity to assist with the birth of puppies, an incredibly rewarding experience that strengthened her appreciation for early-life care and the human–animal bond.

As a proud rescue kitten owner, Camille understands just how meaningful the bond between people and their pets truly is. Her kitten, Elizabeth, holds a very special place in her heart and is a constant reminder of the trust, love, and second chances that make the human–animal bond so rewarding. She believes every pet deserves compassion, patience, and gentle care, no matter their size or background.

Camille loves supporting your furry family members and helping create a calm, positive experience for both pets and their people.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time at the beach, traveling, wine tasting, and making the most of life in the beautiful Okanagan with her friends. She lives with her boyfriend and shares her home with her rescue kitten, Elizabeth, and her fish, Frank Ocean.

A friendly reminder this time of year 🐦

It’s very normal for young crows (and other fledgling birds) to spend time on the ground while they are learning to fly. It can take up to a week before they are fully able to get up off the ground and fly well, and during that time the parents are usually nearby continuing to care for them.

If the bird is not injured, the best thing to do is leave it where it is and keep pets and people at a distance. Only intervene if you see obvious signs of injury or if it is in immediate danger.

If you’re unsure, feel free to give the clinic a call and we can help guide you 😊
