We are offering a quality selection of four Rocky Mountain raised and trained geldings for sale. These geldings are quiet, straight, sound, and correct. The range of training varies based on their ages. These horses are currently located in Wickenburg, AZ and are being rode and conditioned in the desert and worked in the arena daily. Late April they will be in northwest, MT. The buckskin (2019 Draft X) and the bay (2018) have worked in our dude and hunting string, looking after clients and being packed. These guys are ready to go to work for you!
The 2022 and 2023 roans (full brothers) are out of our AQHA stallion (Tobas Go Blue Pepto) and a handy little (Hancock bred) grade QH mare we owned, that worked in our string, who is continuing her career on a working cattle ranch in the Chilcotin country of British Columbia. These two youngsters are Hancock sturdy with calm and quiet minds.
These five geldings all have current Coggins and health certificates – no vices, no maintenance, no drama. Delivery available.
🐴2018 Bay gelding grade QH. 14.1 HH – Cheeks (22K)
We bought Cheeks as a three-year-old prospect to dude little kids and little old ladies, which he excelled at for four seasons in our string. On the trail he is the perfect babysitter and knows his job both as a dude horse but also a pack horse. Last summer we introduced him to the arena cattle sorting where he showed real spark and compete. He has a soft bridle handle and a good start on the heel end. He breaks fast, rates good, and is getting a hammer stop. We see him as a best fit for a lady/light rider as a heel horse, a junior rodeo (heeling or break away), gymkhana, pony club; and of course, he already is an amazing trail horse.
🐴2019 Buckskin gelding draft Clyde/QH cross. 17 HH -Dozer (30K)
Big motor, big heart, and bigger personality. This gelding is a rare mix of look, talent, size, strength, endurance, athleticism, and character that makes him a truly exceptional horse. We bought Dozer as a coming two-year-old with the plan that he would join our string to pack elk and moose and take care of our bigger clients. He became a champ at both. He started light packing at two, our wranglers rode him and we packed him his third year. At four he went full time taking care of trail ride and hunting clients, and packing. He has evolved into an all-around superb mountain gelding that can handle any terrain and any rider. He is very athletic for a big guy and has trained and competed two seasons skijoring in the Rockies. Dozer is the fan favourite wherever he goes – whether competing or on the trails. He is excellent working on the ranch and loves moving cows, is handy and strong dragging calves or holding bulls. He has a good bridle handle, moves off the leg, and has a great stop. Walk, trot, lope, stop, turn, stand, tie, load, clip, bathe – a little heavy for the farrier. The only thing Dozer hasn’t done yet is drive, but we know he would take to it the way he has taken to all his jobs. This horse loves to work so much that if you hang his halter in the pasture, he will find it and stand with his head by the post waiting for you to put it on.
🐴2022 Red Roan gelding grade QH. 14.2 HH – Tito (10K)
Out of our stud Tobas Go Blue Pepto and handy Hancock bred mare (grade QH). We started Tito this past winter and he has done nothing but impress. Honest, smart, willing, and cooking with gas! This little gelding is going to be a pistol in the arena and a master on the trails. He is currently under saddle in both bridle and bosal and barebacking in just a halter. Already with less than thirty rides since he started in Dec. he has all the basics – forward, collected turns and stops, back, lead changes, stand, tie, load, and stands perfect for the farrier. His first 20 rides were mountain trail, and since we arrived in AZ March 9, he has been on desert trails and in the arena - where he hunts cattle and barrels. On cows he lopes in, rates, and follows the drag steer or lead steers. Is comfortable with ropes swung and logging and is getting box savvy. He has just been introduced to barrel drills and is nailing it. We project him to finish 14.3 to 15 HH. Take this gelding any direction but be sure there will be a pay window on your journey!
🐴2023 Bay Roan gelding grade QH.14.1 HH – Jameson (7K)
Out of our stud Tobas Go Blue Pepto and handy Hancock bred mare (grade QH). Full brother to above gelding. Puppy dog quiet, in your pocket friendly, and a handsome dark bay roan. Jameson had basic ground training before we arrived in AZ March 9. He now has rides under his belt and is gaining basics training daily. Walk, trot, lope, stand, turn, back, tie, load, bath, clip, farrier friendly. Willing and honest like his brother, we foresee he too will be a pistol in the arena and master of trails. We project him to finish 14.3 as he appears damn near a twin to his sire.
