What all happens at a grooming appointment?

A lot!

First we assess your pets skin and coat, identify and remove any matting and identify any existing lumps, bumps, wounds or skin issues.

During the bath your groomer selects a shampoo that is appropriate for the condition and needs of your pets’ skin and coat. When we are shampooing your dog they are bathed 2-3 times or as many times as necessary in order to provider properly clean skin and coat.

Next your groomer selects a conditioner that suits the needs of the pets skin and coat and/or that will help provide the best blow-dry outcome.

Then we move over to the drying table where the dog is thoroughly towel dried and given scritches all over, and then gently introduced to our blowdryers and thoroughly dried, brushed, combed and prepared for their haircut.

Most of our clients find it easiest to keep an approximately two month grooming frequency to maintain their pets coat in good condition, but also to help keep the pet comfortable and familiar with this very necessary process to reduce stress/fear.

Hey Prettypaws Family!

I groomed the sweetest little Shih Tzu/Lhasa/Poodle (maybe?) mixy mix today who is just the sweetest girl.

Sophia is looking for a home and I thought I may be able to help out!

She is approximately 3yrs old, UTD on vaccines, spayed, house trained, and good with dogs and cats. Sophia is an enthusiastic soul who is excited about life but with some patience she will happily settle down and sleep in her kennel… even in the busy salon.

Sophia would not make a good apartment dog as she does seem to like the sound of her own voice. Training may help this, and she would like someone who’s frequently home.

Sophia is currently located in Bancroft, ON.

We are recruiting an experienced pet groomer for our Bancroft location!

Miss Aynsley recently left us to move to the big city and we are recruiting someone to help us manage our workload! She has big shoes to fill and we will not compromise on our priorities of gentle handling, safe and practical grooming, teamwork, and top-notch customer service. We are looking for a unicorn!

The ideal candidate would have 2+ years experience in pet grooming but all applications are welcome if you have pet grooming experience.

This position is part-time to start growing to full time as the repeat clientele of a new groomer build up. We work Monday - Friday (no weekends) and hours are flexible based on your scheduling needs.

Renumeration based on experience and skill.
