Our mandate is
To provide care and rehabilitation
to abused and neglected horses. To assist members of the community
that can no longer care for their horses
in an attempt to prevent innocent animals
being subjected to cruelty and neglect. Our Goals and Objectives are:

Create a volunteer-based, equine welfare organization to ensure quality care and treatment of horses through intervention, e

ducation and outreach. Create a partnership to provide a reputable facility for the care and rehabilitation of horses under investigation. Educate the public on equine welfare issues

Establish a program to assist other rescue organizations in Ontario as more facilities are needed to take in the increasing number of abused and neglected horses across the Province. You can help us help the horses:

1) Make a financial donation
2) Sponsor a horse
3) Donate feed, blanket, tack, supplements, wormer, supplies
4) Volunteer

The farm is open to the public by appointment only. Please understand that our first priority is looking after all the horses. So, our time is limited and precious. If you are interested in adopting a horse, please complete the online Adoption Application on our website. http://bit.ly/ZTE7js

Our Tack has been removed from their store in Port Colborne.

Our Tack store is still open at the rescue in Hagersville.

Equine herpesvirus (EHV) is a family of equine viruses named by numbers including EHV-1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 with EHV-1,3,4 posing the most risk for domestic horses. EHV is a common DNA virus that occurs in horse populations worldwide. The two most common species are EHV-1 and EHV-4.

This Good Friday we ended up at an Easter sale, something we don’t typically do.

Meet Nikki and Dixie 🩷🩷
Nikki was brought through with a baby at her side as “unhandled” and prodded through the shutes. Her foal sold ahead of her and was ripped away in all the commotion. She called and called all day until we walked quietly together to the trailer.

Dixie walked in quietly with a different kind of story. She was rode in by a child, but being older and kind eyed, she was overlooked.

We couldn’t walk away from either of them.

Nikki, as it turns out, is actually very well handled. She earned a whopping $237 000 on the track.

These girls will be quarantined safely, get their fecals done and have a deworming plan, vaccinated, preg checked, a quick trim, and given all the groceries they need.
