We were excited to welcome a couple new additions at Bennville the last couple weeks. The first a big, confident and smart c**t on by Beau Balou out of Lady Darina (Londontime/Donnerhall), who loves to canter and have wither scratches. The second, born just 2 days ago is a a gorgeous little filly by Von und Zu and out of a first time momma Little Bit Alexis (Livaldon/Belissimo), and is still unfolding, but we can't wait to see her on the move.

We were so proud to see a picture featuring our lovely mare Red Label (Ruby) as part of an article covering the Hanoverian Inspection tours outside of Germany in the "Der Hannoveraner" magazine published by the Hanoverian Verband in Germany. By completing her Mare Performance test this past fall (with some outstanding marks), Ruby completed all the requirements to become a States Premium Mare with the Hanoverian Verband.

Many thanks to Megan Kinsella of Horseshoe Keepsakes for the lovely Christmas gift of one of my special girl's shoes done up in a memory box! It was so thoughtful. Also thanks to many of my boarders getting together and getting me a heated jacket that I very much look forward to making use of this winter, especially when teaching lessons! ❄ With a couple gifts still under the tree that I am looking forward to unwrapping, I am thankful for their kindness and thoughtfulness this holiday season!

Our sweet "Schnitzel" (Secret/Florestan) has sold. Congratulations to his new owners who will continue to develop his natural talents for the hunter ring. We will certainly miss his kind nature and sweet face around the barn.

Who needs a pony when you have sweet horse souls like this? Ruby got the seven-year old's stamp of approval for "being so good at holding her feet up". Ruby (Rock Springs/ San Remo) really is a gem to handle and a pleasure to have in the barn, and will make one lucky person a sweet, kind and talented partner!

So proud of our homebred "Doug" (Don Ma****lo/Finest/Londonderry) and his owner RIley on their success at the Niagara’s finest horse showcase. Happy to see our horses doing well and so loved by their new families.

Donatello (Doug) is a 2019 16.3h hanoverian black gelding by Don Ma****lo out of Finest Londonderry. Born in Canada and bred by Bennville Equine. In training at Daisy Meadows Equestrian, Doug has been shown by his junior rider and owner, Riley McCoy, successfully in the 2ft6 hunter ring, including several championships, on the silver series in 2024.

The culmination if a successful show season yesterday at the Caledon Dressage Awards Banquet. Congratulations to:
Teresa MacDonald and Zauberprinz, Gold Fourth Level AA Champion
Janet Schaub and Zest for Life, Silver Training Level AA Champion
Greta Haupt was Silver First Level Open Champion and Reserve with Zest for Life and Bailon L, respectively, and also Silver Second Level Open Champion and Reserve with Diamante and Bailon L, respectively.
Many thanks to all who made this show season a success; the supportive show crew of riders, owners and friends that come along to help and make the shows fun, those that hold down the fort and do extra work at home when we are away for show weekends, and all the volunteers at Caledon Dressage that make this a well organized and welcoming show series each year!

Our handsome little c**t "Benjamin Blümchen" attended his Hanoverian inspection a few weeks ago. He got some great comments from the judges who remarked on his modern type, lovely head and expression and his well put together and elegant frame. Sired by Bon Esprit, and out of a Vaderland/De Niro dam, he combines some interesting dressage bloodlines with a curious, confident, and personable temperament. We think he will be a lovely future dressage partner, and look forward to seeing him continue to develop.

We capped off the show season with a bang, taking part in the Western Ontario Silver Championship classes held at Caledon Dressage, with great results. Janet Schaub and her stunning mare "Zest for Life" (Zoom/Vitalis) came home Training Level AA Champions, and I am so proud of how these two have developed as a team this season, starting to get their confidence in the show ring together, and achieving some amazing scores this summer- I think the future looks bright for them both!
Bailon L (Belissimo/Welser) and I came home First Level Open Champions, and, though not part of the Championship classes, I am especially proud at how Bailon handled her Saturday ride; her first time riding in front of the grandstand on a cold and windy rainy day- she would have had every reason to be scared, but she stayed focused and rode a super test for a 70%.
Diamante (Damsey/Waikiki) , owned by Sharon Millman, and I came home Second Level Champions. I'm so proud of how this mare has improved and gained strength throughout the show season and she always tries super hard for me, and is such a trustworthy partner in the show ring and on the show grounds.

The ever gorgeous Hanoverian mare Red Label (Ruby) by Rocks Springs/San Remo/Weltmeyer, was Reserve Champion Mare in the Mare Show and also completed a lovely Performance Test with high praises from the judges, and has now completed all requirements to earn States Premium status in the Hanoverian breed. More details and professional shots to come; first, its foal show time!

As the summer wraps up, it seems like just yesterday we were getting set for our first shows of the season, and now we are prepping for a busy weekend ahead, with Hanoverian Mare Performance Test, Foal Show and Inspection, and the last Caledon Dressage show of the season all back to back. Best of luck to all the breeders taking the time to present and highlight their breeding programs, and the horses that they hope will in the future be successful show partners for their riders, as well as to those riders competing this weekend, taking those horses lovingly bred and raised and presenting them in the showring!

Another highlight was coming home Champion Silver Second Level with Diamante (Damsey/Waikiki), a mare we bred ourselves.This mare always trys her heart out and is having more and more consistency through her tests, and is such a fun mare to continue to develop.
