📣We are opening our doors and looking for a Full-Time live in Ranch Hand / Horse Trainer

We are looking for a motivated, hardworking individual to join our ranch team full-time.

The ideal candidate will have experience with horses and enjoy the variety that comes with ranch life. No two days are the same, so we’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed.

Responsibilities include:

* Starting young horses under saddle
* Continuing training on horses at various stages
* Halter breaking and groundwork
* Administering medications and providing basic horse first aid
* Daily horse care and handling
* General ranch maintenance and chores
* Operating equipment when required
* Seasonal tasks such as mowing/cutting grass, fencing, and other ranch projects

Qualifications:

* Confident, capable rider
* Experience starting and training horses
* Knowledge of horse health, first aid, and administering medications
* Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn
* Able to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions

We are beyond proud of Chey and her horses after an amazing day in the show pen this past Saturday July 25! 🐴🏆❤️

First, a huge congratulations to Chey and Hawk, aka MK Mighty Barlink! As many of you know, Chey has brought Hawk up from a foal and has been training him herself. She has now started him under saddle, and we couldn’t be more proud of the progress this team has made together.

Hawk did absolutely amazing, placing in nearly every walk/trot class he entered, including a couple first-place finishes and even winning Grand Champion Horse Overall! 🏆

Watching the training and time Chey has put into this horse come together has been so rewarding. We are incredibly proud of the horsewoman she is becoming and the partnership she has created with Hawk. He handled the show and all the excitement like an old broke horse!

Chey also showed Wager, aka SLJ Up And Shining, and this team had an incredible day as well! They placed first in every class except for a second in poles and a third in barrels. They finished the day as the Intermediate High Point team! 🏆👏

To top off an already incredible day, Chey also received her 2025 Year-End High Point Award from the North Interlake Show Circuit—a beautiful, handmade leather satchel. What a special and well-deserved award! ❤️

We couldn’t be more proud of Chey, the dedication she puts into her horses, and the hard work she continues to put in every single day. Watching her develop these partnerships and grow as a horsewoman is truly something special.

Huge shoutout to Taylor Douglas from Happy Horsesfor making the trip down to work with Chey today! ☀️🐴

It was a hot one, but Chey was able to get two young horses ridden and put some great work into both of them.

With her palomino, Josie, they worked on the cutting flag, understanding manoeuvres, and building a better feel and understanding of the movements.

With our 3-year-old bay mare, Bambi, they continued her training and worked on progressing her beyond the 45-day mark.

Taylor is one of those people you can instantly relate to and feel comfortable around. Not only is he an incredibly skilled horseman, but he also has such a calm, easy-going demeanour and a wonderful way of teaching. His positive attitude and ability to make both horse and rider feel comfortable make learning such an enjoyable experience.
