This month I celebrate 5 years in business on the Sunshine Coast AND my 25th year in dog grooming! 🤯

When I closed my shop in Vancouver 5 years ago and decided to open up shop in Gibsons I was pretty much terrified. We were in the thick of the pandemic and I was broke with no idea how I was going to pull it off. With the help of family and friends we managed to pull it together and Babette's Barber was born.

I quickly found myself feeling like a part of a great community and I'm so grateful for all the relationships I've built with everyone in these last five years.

Doing anything daily for 25 years is a challenge in itself and dog grooming especially possesses many challenges. I've found myself many times over the years thinking about throwing in the towel and changing careers. But then I think about 10 year old me and how stoked she would be to know that I get to spend my days doing what I do. I'm very grateful that my body and my health have allowed me to continue on for all these years so I can spend each day with my one true love: dogs!

Thank you to every person who has ever trusted me with their loved ones. It's been an honour and a pleasure 💕

If your cat needs a grooming, Sara will be here grooming kitties on the 22nd, contact her directly for an appointment!

Gibsons cat parents! If your kitty needs a groom and does not travel well, Melissa with Babette's Barber was kind enough to rent me her shop for the day so I can take some cat grooming appointments locally. The Salon is located in lower gibsons near mollys reach.

My first day there will be June 22nd and I will be going every 1-2 months (depending on demand) to offer appointments.

Don't forget the Pride Festival is this Sunday!
The pet parade will start around 1:30 and I'm so excited to be a judge this year.

Best dressed pet will win a box full of goodies with some of our all time favourite products and companies including , , .co, as well as a year's worth of nail trims provided by me!

It's also my birthday and I can't think of a better way to spend it so come say hi! Hope to see you there!
