Hello all!

My last update was over 4 weeks ago, so I thought I would give a little update.

Apparently when you can really do very little or nothing for 6+ weeks...you definitely lose it. I can walk to my mailbox, and stand for about 10 minutes at a time. Very hard to accept, when less then 3 months ago i worked full time in the shop, and part time at the barn. Rode almost daily, socialized, etc.
Right now, the biggest problem I am having, it staying hydrated. I am supposed to eat as well as drink...my stomach can only hold so much!! Ended up in hospital for 6 days last week, on IV fluids the entire time.
It has been a very difficult 2 months. šŸ˜ž.

Orders are still postponed until further notice. I have many small Ground Grazers, and a few larges available. A couple corner trailer feeders, many Tail Bags, bucket covers and Shockers. Some other miscellaneous items.

I am still accepting blankets for Top Horse. The first pick up is this weekend!

Thank you for all of your support, and I am hoping to get up and running sooner, rather then later!

Fly boots....I have discovered that the way I am sewing the new stays in, is not working. I will be putting a big pause on making them until I figure out a solution of this issue!

As many of you know, I have not been well at all since mid April. After many tests, pokes, scans, drugs...we have an answer. My breast cancer from 4 years ago has metastasis to my liver, which has been causing everything since mid April.
As a result...I will not be taking any orders until further notice. I will be check in with clients that have orders for items I have already made, to see if they want to swith colors. I will be slowly getting existing orders out, and posting all of the items I have ready made. I will have until mid June before any treatment plan is put in place...just numerous scans and tests until then.

The shop will still be a depot for Top Horse blankets. First deadline for pick ups is June 7th. Anything brought after that will be picked up in August. Below are the bundling directions and sheet to be filled out by each owner. If there are multiple owners, with one blanket...please bundle together and make sure the sheet is tucked inside the individual blankets.

Bundling instructions will be in the comments.

These 2 businesses will be taking over blanket washing/repairs/waterproofing for me moving forward.

For your basic wash/repair/waterproofing, please bring them the Heatherton Harness an Tack on Road 49, outside of Maxwell.

For your superior wash/repairs/waterproofing, I will be a depot for Top Horse Blankets and Repairs. I learned how to fix blankets at Top Horse many years ago. They have been in business for 25+years!

First pick up is at the beginning of June. 2nd pickup/drop offs the beginning of August. Last drop offs at the beginning of October. These dates are not set in stone, we'll play it by ear.

The info for Top Horse is listed below. All blankets must be bundled, and have a sheet for each bundle, or each blanket in the bundle.

I started my business 6 1/2 years ago with blanket washing/repairs/waterproofing only, and over the years I have expanded extensively, mainly with my custom products.

The washing side has grown to a staggering 1000+ blankets done a year, of which I am very proud .

But sadly the blanket cleaning element is an extremely physically and mentally demanding job which takes a toll on me, and the profit margins are so finite that Iā€™m sometimes subsidizing this side of my business .

After this last health scare I have reevaluated my business plan and come to a decision to take this huge amount of stress and physical labor off my shoulders. Therefore I will no longer be providing a blanket cleaning service.

I will be partnering with Top Horse, who has been exclusively in the blanket washing/repair/waterproofing business for over 25 years, to become a drop off/pick up location for her. I will post details as soon as everything has been worked out.

Heatherton Harness in Maxwell is a local business, that is also available for your blanket needs.

Naturally, I will still be available for minor or emergency repairs on clean blankets, and all blankets currently at the shop will be finished!

I care deeply about my customers and my business. This is a difficult decision for me to make but I know you all will support me in putting my health and happiness first.
Iā€™m not very good at prioritizing myself but Iā€™m going to give it my best shot.

And another bag of blankets. As these are in decent shape...they may be here for washing?

Over 1000 blankets went through my shop last year. I have a good memory, and i try to write things down immediately, but it doesn't always happen. I can generally search through messages and figure out what is what...but that is a huge waste of time.

Please, please PLEASE put a note in your bag with your blankets. Or in the middle of the bundle. In the future, all blankets brought in, with no identification, will be put in the barn, and left until you call.

This is such a time waster for me, and so easy for clients to add a note.

These blankets were dropped off in April I think, in a black garbage bag...I am 99% sure that they were for parts donati...

I want to Thank everyone for their well wishes and patience during the last few weeks. I am feeling better, and SLOWLY gaining back my energy.
We have not completely figured out what or why my body decided to crash...its a work in progress.

New orders and blankets are still on hold until further notice, as I catch up with everything that should have been finished in April.

Unfortunately, due to health issues, I am realizing that if I keep taking orders, I will be caught up in July...mabe.

Until further notice, I will not be taking anymore custom orders. I do have some items pre-made, and will certainly try my best to serve everyone, as much as I can. I will be contacting everyone who has made an order, to dicuss options, if needed.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Things are changing daily, and I am trying my best to make everyone happy!

I hate to do this, while blanket season is just starting...but I will be cutting hours pretty drastically this month. 1-2 hours a day at most.

I have been quite ill the last 3 weeks, and this seems to be continuing until Dr's figure out what is going on.
I will be finishing all the blankets I currently have, and working on custom orders, depending on how much energy I have.

I may be bumping the start of my pick up route until July.

I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and appreciate your understanding.
