We recently had the honour of creating this custom coin for the Pacific Chiefs and Petty Officers Association 70th anniversary. They are right here in Esquimalt, BC! 🇨🇦

The coin features a striking 3D metal representation of The Sailor, a statue that stands as a tribute to generations of Royal Canadian Navy personnel.

The St Roch RCMP coin - a Sharkz Coins exclusive design!

Designed to commemorate the Royal Canadian Mounted Police's rich maritime legacy, this challenge coin is a tribute to one of Canada’s most iconic Arctic vessels.

Between 1928 and 1954, the RCMP St. Roch played a vital role in the Canadian Arctic. As a patrol vessel, supply ship, and floating RCMP detachment, it connected remote northern communities and upheld law enforcement in some of the harshest conditions. The St. Roch became the first ship to successfully navigate the Northwest Passage from west to east, and later the first to circumnavigate North America. This historic vessel is a symbol of Canadian resilience, maritime heritage, and the proud legacy of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Let’s Talk Drones.

In the interest of air crew and public safety, Transport Canada and the BC Wildfire Service explicitly prohibit the use of drones near a wildfire. The operation of any aircraft not associated with fire suppression activities within this area, including Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) - unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or drones - is illegal.

The presence of RPAS (UAVs or drones) near an active wildfire can slow down or completely shut down aerial firefighting efforts due to safety concerns. Flying drones in wildfire areas is dangerous and poses a significant safety risk to personnel, especially when low-flying firefighting aircraft are present. If a drone collides with firefighting aircraft, the consequences could be deadly.

This striking piece is plated in antique copper and features a bold bald eagle and the official Vancouver PD crest. Every detail stands out thanks to soft enamel paint — a process that not only brings the artwork to life with vibrant colour but also adds a tactile hand feel, allowing you to feel the raised metal lines. 👌

Bonus? Using soft enamel paint is also one of the more affordable production techniques, making it a great choice for budget conscious custom coins that don’t compromise on impact.
