Here are a few ways to keep them safe:

🍫 Keep chocolate & candy out of reach
🎃 Keep pets away from candles and decorations they could chew or knock over
🚪 Be mindful of open doors and escape artists
👻 Give nervous pets a quiet, comfortable place away from the trick-or-treaters
🧙‍♀️ If your pet is dressing up, make sure their costume is comfortable and doesn't restrict movement, breathing, or vision

Meet Isaac! 🩺🐾

One of Isaac’s favourite parts of being a Veterinary Technician is the variety that comes with the job. No two days are ever quite the same!

One day might bring a brand-new puppy or kitten to assess and help through their first visit, while the next might mean catching up with a patient we’ve known for years and helping support their changing needs as they get older.

During the 2024–2025 fiscal year, the Farley Foundation helped subsidize the cost of necessary veterinary care for 1,743 pets.

This little lump near Callie’s eye looked suspicious… and for good reason.

Callie had a Cuterebra (botfly larva) hiding just under the skin beside her eye.

Our team carefully removed it, and you can see the little culprit at the end of the video.

Cuterebra can cause noticeable lumps, swelling, or irritation when their larvae are under the skin. And yes… they can end up in some pretty unexpected places!

Meet Jordyn! 🩺🐾

One of Jordyn’s favourite parts of being a Veterinary Technician is surgery!

She loves being part of the team that helps our patients through their procedures, from getting them ready beforehand to monitoring them while they’re under anesthesia and making sure they’re comfortable as they wake up.

There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes during surgery, and our veterinary technicians play a huge role in keeping everything running smoothly and, most importantly, keeping our patients safe.

For Jordyn, there’s something pretty special about getting to see a patient through their entire surgical journey. 💙

Throughout October, we’re fundraising in support of the Farley Foundation! And we’ve got two pretty great reasons to get involved.

We have TWO gift baskets up for grabs—one for cat lovers 🐱 and one for dog lovers 🐶!

Here’s how it works:
