𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡… What the industry is truly short on isn’t elite pedigrees, it’s skilled horsemen and women who truly know how to start a c**t or filly the right way.

Proper c**t starting isn’t about quick 30 day miracles or forcing timelines. It’s built on feel, perfect timing, and the wisdom to know when to push and more importantly when to back off and let the horse think.

Those foundational rides set the entire future. Get them wrong, and you’ll chase holes, tension, and resistance for years… if the horse even stays sound and sane.

Every horse is different. Some soak it up fast and move forward smoothly. Others need extra time, repetition, and a rock steady hand to process without fear. That’s not a flaw, it’s just a horse being a horse.

True professionals read the individual and adapt, never letting a calendar dictate the pace.

When a reputable c**t starter is booked solid months ahead, that’s the clearest signal of quality. Seek them out, ask for references from folks you trust, get on the waiting list, and be patient. Rushed, bargain based work always comes with a much bigger price tag later….vet bills, retraining, lost potential, or worse.

Invest the time: 90 to 120 days plus is the realistic window where a solid foundation really takes hold, creating a horse that’s soft, confident, and built to last.
