Bruce Lee! 🐾

Have you ever dreamed of having a big cat as a companion? Bruce is your next best thing. He's a domestic cat with the confident, presence and personality of a big wild cat.

Bruce Lee is looking for a single person or couple who understand his unique quirks. He needs an adult only home with no children or children in the future. He may do well with another cat depending on the match and he seems comfortable around other dogs.

Bruce has come an incredibly long way since he's been with me. All he needs now is someone willing to let him be himself, continue building trust, and give him the forever home he deserves.

If you're looking for a cat with a larger-than-life personality packed into a compact body, Bruce Lee might just be your perfect match. ❤️

Please share so we can help him find his person.

He is available through the Clearwater Humane Society, British Columbia

Currently housed at Peakside Animal Rescue

Why Cat Rescue Matters in Clearwater 🐾

Cat rescue isn't just about saving individual cats and kittens.

It's about keeping our entire community healthier.

When unfixed cats are abandoned, dumped, or allowed to roam and reproduce, feral colonies can grow quickly. In larger, unmanaged populations, illnesses and parasites can spread more easily. Some infections can also be passed between outdoor/community cats and people's own cats, especially when cats fight, mate, share food sources, or come into close contact.

And I want to be very clear: this is not the feral cats' fault. Feral cats are a human created problem. Somewhere along the line, cats weren't fixed, were abandoned, or generations were born outside without proper care. They're simply surviving the situation humans created for them.
I've seen what can happen in communities where cat populations become overwhelming sick adults, sick kittens, suffering that could have been prevented, and rescues struggling to catch up.

I don't want that for Clearwater.

Every cat we trap, spay or neuter, vaccinate, treat, socialize or responsibly place is part of prevention.

Rescue isn't only reacting to suffering after it happens, it's trying to stop the cycle before it becomes a much bigger problem.

I want Clearwater's cats, owned, stray and feral, to be as healthy as possible. I want people's pets protected. I want fewer kittens born outside struggling to survive.

This is why the work matters. ❤️

Healthy cats. Healthy colonies. A healthier community.

🐾🐱 Happy International Cat Day! 🐱🐾

Today I'm especially thankful for every single cat that has come through my doors. From the tiny kittens and scared ferals to the seniors and cats who just needed someone to give them another chance.

One of the absolute best parts of rescue is getting updates from their new families. Seeing cats who once needed us now safe, loved, spoiled and thriving in their forever homes makes me happier than I can explain. ❤️

Every rescue has a story, and knowing I got to be a small part of their journey to a better life makes all the hard days worth it.

So today I'm celebrating all of our past and present Peakside kitties and the wonderful people who opened their homes and hearts to them. 🐈‍⬛🐾❤️

About Maddy

Animal rescue has been part of Maddy’s life for as long as she can remember. When she was just four years old, a traumatic near-death experience after being mauled by her family dog became a defining moment in her early life. Instead of turning away from animals, it sparked a lifelong determination to understand them. Over time, she began learning not only dog behavior, but also human behavior, how fear, environment, and misunderstanding can shape interactions on both sides.

Growing up around animals and helping those in need shaped a lifelong passion that eventually became years of hands-on rescue work. As she got older, that curiosity deepened into a focused study of animal behavior, especially dogs, learning to read body language, triggers, stress signals, and communication cues with care and respect.

Later, Maddy expanded her learning into cat behavior as well, spending years studying and working closely with cats of all temperaments, from feral colonies to shy, undersocialized, and abandoned animals, developing a patient, observant approach to earning their trust.

From lost and abandoned pets to fearful, feral, and harder-to-place animals, Maddy has built her experience by being directly involved, trapping, transporting, rehabilitating, advocating, and giving animals the time and patience they need.

Her passion for rescue also extends to the people attached to those animals. Maddy is especially passionate about helping women and their pets find safety when escaping domestic violence, recognizing that concern for a beloved animal can be a significant barrier when someone is trying to leave a dangerous situation.

Her community work has also included assisting the RCMP and local hospital during emergency situations involving people and their pets, helping ensure animals are safe and cared for when their owners are facing a crisis, hospitalization, or other unexpected circumstances.

She is also passionate about educating others, including children, about animal behavior, safety, and compassionate interaction, helping build understanding and confidence so that people of all ages can form healthier, more respectful relationships with animals.

Peakside Animal Rescue is a return to those roots: small, personal, hands-on rescue focused on the animals who need someone willing to meet them where they are.
