Today, while mama Daisy was being trained to ride, Tiger man became officially halter broke. The boy is 6 weeks old with the soul of an experienced cow horse 🥰 He bit me when I put the halter on 🤣, but I just scratched his withers and he let me put the halter on, add a lead rope, lift his legs to inspect his bitty hooves... just keep the scratches coming and we are good. And here he is on his way out again after the work session

Not every horse needs to be Grand Prix. Many horses are advertised as “FEI potential,” but that promise only matters if the rider has the skill, time, and coaching to reach those levels. Most of us ride for the quiet joy of connection and steady improvement. My first dressage horse, Wotan, was a 14 year old schoolmaster who taught me to ride—he rewarded correct aids and forgave mistakes. Wotan prepared me for taking on my lovely Tesse , a 5 year old, who was lightly started. She became my heart horse, the Queen of my stable and my animal soulmate. If you’re an amateur rider, look for ridability, balanced gaits, good conformation, and a forgiving temperament. Those are the horses that will teach you, keep you safe, and stay sound for years.

I am writing a blog from the perspective of a breeder and will publish it shortly. I hope you will read it :-)

Daisy had her first foal this year, gorgeous grulla boy who is now just over 6 weeks old. Daisy has had a lot of in-hand training but had never been backed before. We decided to get her started under saddle and see if this is a job she would enjoy. Daisy took it all with such calm, poise and genuine enjoyment of the entire process. Her little boy Tiger, helped along as co-trainer when he was not busy trying to sit on my lap and get in some hugs.

Bugatti - Be Sure/Blue Hors Farrell starting to look like a big boy. I was brushing his lovely mamma Feline and he kept interrupting and wanting attention. So I decided now was as good a time as ever to introduce him to a halter. He LOVED it ... I mean just look at his expression when I told I was going to take the halter off again, him saying "You talking to me? " . He will not be wearing a halter outside the safety of the stable yet, but halter training for me starts when the horse is ready and willing; just like all other aspects of training. And yes, he has mud on his face from being outside galloping up a storm with his brother Bentley.

⭐️Montana Amazing Grace ⭐️
(Blue Horse Monte Carlo TC x Governor x Sandro Hit)
A true pocket rocket, a young super talent in the making! 🚀
Montana is a Four year old, 16 hand fun, and kind young mare with that extra bit of class and sportiness to go all the way to the top!
She has all the pieces necessary for the modern sport- she is willing, forward, sensitive, and athletic. Paired with her high movement quality and an uphill expression she is the kind of horse that makes the rider's job easy.
Montana has the talent and sensitivity to allow the rider to train harmoniously without compromising expression or quality, perfect for the modern sport as it moves towards harmony. She is on track for the FEI four year old classes and as her natural balance and ease in the contact indicates she will be a fun horse to produce to the upper levels of the sport.
She is a daughter of the modern and sporty young stallion Blue Horse Monte Carlo TC (Dreamboy x United) who began his career as the standout in the 2020 KWPN Stallion licensing, the 2023 Danish Warmblood Championships for 6 year olds, and has now made his way in to Small Tour sport with a Young rider. Montana’s mother Grace is a powerful Governor (Totilas x Jazz) daughter who exhibits high movement quality and stamps this into her offspring, by whom Montana is clearly influenced. Grace was imported from Denmark in 2019 after having successfully completed a mare performance test which allowed her to join ranks with the long line of elite Danish mares in her lineage. Her dam sire is the extremely influential and legendary Sandro Hit who needs little introduction.
Montana would be ideal for a smaller rider with ambitions of riding FEI classes; from the young horse classes all the way to Grandprix.

You often hear the expression "mamma bear" to talk about a protective and vigilant mother. Whoever coined that phrase has not been much around Mamma Mares. Now I know my girls very well and have trained with them for years, so we know, respect and love each other. But handling a mare with her new born foal at foot is not for the fait of heart. I have double sized foaling stalls that my mares and foals stay in at night. I can go into the stall, play with the foal, brush the mare or fill up buckets etc. All accepted and encouraged. During the day, they have been out on individual pasture - each with her son. When leading the mares out to the pasture, you have to be absolutely sure you know that the mare has constant eyes on her foal. If she can't see him ... all is fair game! But I must add how respectful my girls are of us. When Feline couldn't see her boy for about 3 seconds, she was up on her hinds in a dragon fury, while aboslutely making sure she knew where I was and keeping me safe ❤ We train with respect and get respect back in spades ❤

Bugatti Amazing Grace will be one month old next week. The adorable boy runs on rocket fuel and now wants to share his lovely mamma Feline's hay. And yes, he has 4 teeth and they all bite 😂
