Prep the evening by playing soft music , keeping pets away from open doorways from where they can bolt …. And be sure to keep the decor and candy out of reach !

As we approach October 31st, and Halloween, it can be a busy time with families and lots of comings and goings with festive celebrations

This can be a stressful time for pets ; High energy activities , unexpected sights and sounds , and treats everywhere !

and keep all human food safely out of reach - especially Halloween candy that can contain xylitol which is toxic to pets

Is your pet up to date with their rabies vaccine ?

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is notifying the public that a skunk recently captured in downtown Vancouver has tested positive for rabies.

While interactions with skunks are rare, a small number of people bitten by the skunk have been assessed and received rabies vaccinations and immunoglobulin to prevent rabies.

So how do we protect our pets from rabies?

Vaccinate all pets against rabies regularly.

be sure to supervise pets when outdoors and keep pets away from wild animals (e.g. dogs on leash).

Don’t forget to keep pet food indoors or in a secured area to avoid attracting wild animals.

If you’ve been to Valley Veterinary Services, you’ve probably met Brittney. She’s one of the first smiling faces you’ll see as one of our reception ❤️ team, and this gal is always smiling

Brittney's strong communication skills, power-house enthusiasm and passion for animals make her an amazing member of our team.

Brittney has always wanted a career in the Veterinary field. She's worked as a Commisionaire for 5 years- with the majority of that time spent caring for the dogs in the shelter.

Her desire to help animals AND people is evident every day In her spare time, Brittney loves spending time with her family and being a mom to her two beautiful daughters… and her furry son Enzo ! ( pictured here )
