Hi humans, it’s me—your friendly neighborhood service dog.
I know I look cute (I am cute), but when I’m out with my person, I’m working hard—even if you can’t see why. Not all disabilities are visible, and that’s why my job is so important.
Sometimes people look at my human and think, “They look fine, why do they need a service dog?” But here’s the thing:
✨ Not every challenge can be seen.
✨ Not every disability has a cast, a cane, or a wheelchair.
✨ And not every struggle is obvious to strangers.
My human might need help staying steady, staying calm, remembering important tasks, detecting medical changes, or navigating the world safely. I’m trained to do all of that and more. You might not notice what I’m doing—but trust me, I’m doing it.
So when you see us out in public:
Please don’t distract me.
Please don’t ask what my human’s disability is.
Please don’t assume my human doesn’t “look disabled enough.”
Just give us space to work, offer a smile if you’d like, and remember that kindness goes a long way.
Thanks for helping me keep my human safe. I take my job seriously—even if my tail is wagging.
Love,
A hardworking service dog

Sometimes the smallest cues make the biggest difference—

A brief moment of eye contact (“Watch” Cue) can help ground the handler, bring them back to the present, and anchor them to calm energy despite overwhelming environments.

Small lessons, big progress 🐾🤍

Dogs learn most and best with shorter quality sessions than longer quantity lessons…

Example: One hour once a day of training is less productive than 15mins of training four times a day.

Why?— this improves a dogs memorization of your teachings by repeating it later on, as well as keeps your dog engaged and interested.

A new year brings a fresh opportunity to choose direction with intention. Being goal-driven means deciding what matters most and allowing your time, energy, and actions to align with that vision. ADC Scotia and ADC Akia are setting up their training schedules in order to meet their individual goals. This includes work time, play time and snack time.... oh wait.. SCOTIA!! Ok, snack time is important but with only 1 time slot in your schedule Scotia! ADC Akia says "I like snacks too"

Service dogs are lifelines, bestfriends, and daily miracles on four paws.

Their work is filled with purpose, loyalty, and an unconditional love that brings confidence, safety, and independence to the people they assist.

There’s a unique beauty in the way these dogs serve: calm in chaos, comfort in fear, and strength when it’s needed most.

Here’s to the incredible service dogs who change lives every single day!! 🤍🐾
