We had yet another puppy in training attacked by an off-leash dog. We ask everyone to please leash your dogs unless you are in a designated off-leash area. This negligence is unacceptable. Luckily this pup was not physically injured, but the stress of the event most certainly made an impact. Please, as we advocate for our clients and our pups in training, help to make this world more inclusive by being a responsible pet owner.

If you were to find the sights, sounds, scents, and feels of an environment to be double or triple as intense…this would cause you to be in a state of shut down, melt down, and overwhelm.

This is how overstimulating the world may feel to an autistic person and it is often soothed with pressure; a hug, a squeeze, a weighted blanket.

Unfortunately, carrying a weighted blanket is heavy. Even putting it in a backpack or wagon will add significant weight.

This is where a service dog becomes a necessity for a peaceful outing!

Service dogs learn Deep Pressure therapy tasks; hug, cover, press, etc.

[Bonus! They carry their own weight when the pressure is not required.]

Introducing…ADC Enid! 🤍
We are proud to guide you along your service dog training journey. You will do amazing things little one.

Our goal isn’t just that a service dog can perform a reliable stay under a restaurant table.

Is it that, despite the chitter chatter and food scented atmosphere…a service dog can relax, rest, and feel at peace.

—not absorbing the atmospheres energy. 🤍 (opposed to simply suppressing it)

Say you have a seizure disorder…

Painful, terrifying, and dangerous seizures that can come anytime without warning. By the time you get an aura you are in a scrabble to find your meds, call an ambulance, or seat yourself somewhere safer.

So what if we could detect them before any symptoms begin? Or better, know when to take those valuable emergency well before…dodging the seizure altogether!!

Although WE can’t. Dogs CAN.

Detect, alert, and feel reassured in your day to day knowing you are safe with your service dog seizure detector by your side. 🤍

A slip of your fingers, a miss of your grasp, and your wallet lands on the ground.

No biggie! —You can just pick it up… if you’re able bodied enough to do so.

If not, this leaves relying on assistance from a stranger. Dependant and vulnerable.

This is an example of how a Service Dog restores independence into someone’s life. Retrieving little fallen items such as a wallet, debit card, house keys, etc.

Everyone deserves to be able to navigate the world with both independence and the same accessibility as everyone else.

Here at ADC, we train our canine companions to feel confident on all surfaces because your accessibility shouldn’t be restricted due to a shiny floor, carpeted floor, creaky floor, etc. —here is a glimpse inside of our surface sensory class!

ADC Surya and ADC Scotia enjoyed being a part of the FSWO Conference in Toronto. We had an amazing time presenting at the training Institute. FESTI - Fire & Emergency Services Training Institute Julia Dharma Long -
