This is a stripped stall, (sawyer +a forgotten water hose = a very flooded stall and no...he turned it on))

How often should you oil your saddle? 💧

Here are some signs to help guide you:

✅ Time to oil if you notice…
Dryness or cracking
Stiffness or creaking when you flex the leather
Faded or patchy decolouration

🚫 You may be overdoing it if you notice…
Greasy or sticky residue
Bubbling or excessive darkening
Leather that feels overly soft, weak, or spongy

💡 Keep in mind:
Dry climates = more frequent oiling
Humid climates = oil less often
Always clean your tack before applying oil or balm
Condition with balm after oiling to seal in moisture and protect the surface

Your saddle should feel supple, not soggy or dry like cardboard. When in doubt, less is often more, and proper care means better performance and a longer life for your tack! ✅
