It is corn season in the Valley! Although this is great news for us humans, just a friendly reminder that...

🌽❌ Cobs of corn are *NOT* to be fed as a treat to your dogs! ❌🌽

Corn cobs can create intestinal blockages that need to be removed surgically or can ultimately be fatal.

About this time last year, Garth found himself in quite a predicament when he accidentally snacked on a cob of corn he found at random - luckily for Garth, his owner noticed he wasn't feeling well and with the swift work of our team diagnosing an intestinal blockage, we were able to surgically remove the cob and he made a full recovery. ❤️‍🩹

This is Garth's reminder to ensure corn cobs are disposed of properly and please do not ever give them intentionally to your dogs to chew on or play with.

A reminder
🌊 Beach days can be dangerous… but not in the way you might think.
If your dog loves chasing waves, drinking saltwater, or playing fetch in the ocean—they’re at risk of water intoxication.
💧What is it?
When dogs swallow too much water (especially saltwater), it can throw off their sodium levels. This causes cells to swell—including in the brain. It can lead to vomiting, weakness, confusion, seizures, or worse.
👀 Watch for signs after beach play:
• Lethargy or wobbliness
• Bloating or vomiting
• Glazed eyes or drooling
🐾 Limit water play time, offer fresh water breaks, and never let them gulp saltwater. If something seems off—call your vet immediately.
