SV Northern Lights ( Butter Ball) schooling at Grandview over some preliminary and intermediate fences , I have taken my time with this boy ( come off him a lot ) finally the calm dressage is helping the jumping plus the little things of keeping his mind happy . He jumps a few xc then eats grass , then same again .At Angelstone where he started placing in the Grand Prix but getting treats in the shoot before and after , when it was schooling day I went in his ring but not to jump but eat grass around the outside again for his mind , this is something I do with my clients as well . I have been blessed to have so many winners over the years all different, why he came along I’m not sure at this time in my life but he will be fun :) the sport at the top has changed again the times are harder and like this one they do dressage are the best and fastest xc and show jump . I hope I do him justice, but as my brilliant coach Jack le Goff used to say if you have the mind you have the body , I try hard as he is so smart but this lovely boy deserves it :)

Thanks also to Victoria Knox for some wonderful coaching for the win :)

SV Equestrian would like to congratulate Madison and her young horse Bailamos winning his first 1.10 and 4th in his first Grand Prix to become 1.10 Champion ! Lots of treats at the in and out gate , plus not much grass around there left :) to keep his mind happy along with Madison riding beautifully. Also special note to her Moms lovely hunter Rhinestone Cowboy getting a 77 in his last hunter round to finish 3rd one point behind the winner!

We had a wonderful clinic and invented some fun things like this corner , sadly we couldn’t go outside with the awful rain , but I think we created some fun inside that everyone rode beautifully:)

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Spring Jump Clinic this weekend.

We had a great group of riders and horses, and it was impressive to see the progress throughout the day — from developing confidence over skinnies and corners to improving rider coordination and feel. ✨

It was great to work with a diverse group of riders across disciplines, from hunters and jumpers to eventers and those stepping into the sport.

A big thank you to everyone who showed up ready to work, ask questions, and be open to learning. That’s what makes days like this so valuable.

We’re proud of this group and looking forward to seeing everyone continue to progress this season šŸ¤

Stay tuned… more clinics and training opportunities coming soon šŸ‘€

This horse went from training level to reserve for the Pan Am team in one year.

A big part of that was focusing on careful, correct development—helping him become confident, happy in his work, and really understand what was being asked.

We put a lot of emphasis on exercises that encourage horses to stay up, use their body properly, and become more careful over fences—especially verticals.

When you build it this way, you get a horse that’s not only more careful, but more confident and rideable as well.

This is exactly the type of work we’ll be focusing on at the April 19 clinic šŸ‘€

A few spots still available šŸ‘

One of the biggest things we focus on is teaching horses to be careful over fences—not flat or running through jumps.

Using exercises like verticals and simple setups, we help horses learn to stay quick with their feet, use their body properly, and jump with better technique.

It’s all done in a progressive, confidence-building way so it works for a range of horses and riders.

This is exactly the type of work we’ll be doing in our April 19 clinic šŸ‘€
