Has Pepe le pew got you and your dog skunked?

Skunks typically breed in late winter to early spring, with mating season mainly occurring from February to March. Females are pregnant for about 60-75 days, and they usually give birth to a litter of 4-7 kits (young skunks) in April or May.

Skunks spray a potent, oily substance from glands located near their a**s. This spray is primarily composed of sulfur-containing thiols (also known as mercaptans), which give it a characteristic, foul odor, often described as resembling rotten eggs. The spray also contains thioacetates, which degrade over time, prolonging the pungent smell.

First step after your dog or cat has been skunked is DO NOT get it wet!

Getting your dog wet immediately after it has been sprayed by a skunk. Skunk spray contains oils that don't mix well with water, and wetting your dog can actually spread the oil further and make the smell worse.

What an INCREDIBLE turn out this year from everyone! I don’t think any of us stopped. We made $1627.80 for the 🦜!! ❤️

It was so great to see so many birds and some of the even famous birds Max the Moluccan Gizmo the Grey Bird, the adoptable birds from Greta’s Roost Parrot Rescue Society.

I wanna send a huge thank you to everyone that shared the poster, CTV Morning News for giving us coverage.

Shandra Calvert for driving all the way from Edmonton and supplying the amazing smokies, buns and the best part made me customized water with my logo on it.

Thank you to Calgary Parrot Club and Parrot Trends Ltd. For always helping and keeping it all running smoothly. As well as all my friends and family that showed up and helped. Without all of you we couldn’t have this wonderful event every year.
